Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed to vehicle techniques for selecting communication options for vehicle to everything (V2X) type communications. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes receiving one or more parameters for selection of one or more features associated with one or more radio-access technology (RATs), and selecting the one or more features to be used for communicating with one or more other UEs using a V2X communication protocol. The selection of the one or more features may be based on the one or more parameters. The method may also include communicating with the one or more other UEs via the selected one or more features.

A user equipment (UE) that is configured to transmit a message to a neighboring UE via multiple formats, identify a service parameter indicative of a format to be used for the message. The UE may convey information indicating the service parameter from a first layer of the UE to a second layer of the UE, wherein the first layer is an upper layer with respect to the second layer. The UE may generate, by the second layer and based at least in part on the information, the message in the format for communicating with the neighboring UE. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a profile for vehicle-based sidelink communications supports packet duplication using a set of carrier frequencies. The UE may transmit a message to a base station that identifies the profile and the set of carrier frequencies. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station that identifies a packet duplication configuration. The UE may transmit, based on the packet duplication configuration, a request to the base station for resources to perform the vehicle-based sidelink communications, the request comprising one or more buffer status report (BSRs), wherein each BSR identifies a carrier frequency for the BSR and a logical channel group identifier that identifies the BSR as being for packet duplication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a method includes receiving broadcast information from a base station that identifies types of resources for vehicle-based sidelink communications that are supported by the base station and transmitting a request to the base station for resource scheduling information to perform a vehicle-based sidelink communication based on the broadcast information. In some cases, the request includes an indication of a type of resources for the vehicle-based sidelink communication supported by the base station and a quality of service (QoS) metric associated with the vehicle-based sidelink communication. In some cases, the method further includes receiving, in response to the request, a response from the base station that comprises the resource scheduling information to perform the vehicle-based sidelink communication.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to sharing vehicle sensor information. In some aspects, a requestor (e.g., a first vehicle) may transmit a request for vehicle sensor information. A responder (e.g., a second vehicle) may then respond with information sensed by the responder. For example, a requestor may unicast a vehicle-to-anything (V2X) message that requests a particular responder to share specified sensor information. As another example, a requestor may broadcast a vehicle-to-anything (V2X) message that requests any responder that meets a response criterion (or response criteria) to share specified sensor information.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided that enable UEs to conserve power while involved in ProSe communication. The apparatus transmits discovery class information for ProSe communication to an A-UE and to an M-UE. The discovery class information may be transmitted from a PF in response to discovery requests. Discovery class rules may be sent from the PF as a part of service authorization. The discovery class information may be transmitted from a ProSe application server as application layer signaling. The A-UE and M-UE may use the discovery class information to select a pool of ProSe resources according to the discovery class information for transmission or monitoring of ProSe communication. The M-UE may use the information to reduce the number of resource pools of resources that are monitored for ProSe communication.
