Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a power headroom report (PHR) to a first base station on a first link of a split bearer and to a second base station on a second link of the split bearer. The UE may evaluate a characteristic associated with the first link or the second link after transmitting the first PHR, and adjust a transmit power value transmitted in the PHR associated with the first link or the second link, or both based on the evaluation. As a result, the UE may transmit an adjusted PHR to the first base station or the second base station, or both.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses that use various connection reconfiguration signaling schemes to enable fast user equipment reconfiguration in wireless networks. A network can reduce reconfiguration signaling traffic or overhead by reducing the amount of configuration data sent to each user equipment (UE) in a reconfiguration message. In some examples, when a UE first enters a network area, the network may provide the UE with a list of commonly used baseline configurations. Each baseline configuration may be identified by an index and a value tag. Subsequently, the network may transmit a reconfiguration message including, for example, only the index and value tag to indicate the desired configuration.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for generating and communicating transport blocks. Certain aspects provide a method for allocating an ordered set of packets to a plurality of layers across a plurality of time resources. The method includes allocating one or more packets of the ordered set of packets in order across each of the plurality of layers prior to allocating packets of the ordered set of packets to each of the time resources of any one of the plurality of layers. The method further includes transmitting the plurality of layers.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate employing a paging indicator channel in connection with high speed channels in a wireless communications network. A paging indicator transmission can be sent on the paging channel to one or more mobile devices. The paging indicator indicates that additional information such as a full paging messages, other control plane data or other user plane data is expected to be transmitted at a specific time instant (e.g., subframe) on the associated high speed channel. A set of parameters can be transmitted on common channels that specify a set of associated subframes in a high speed channel. Mobile devices can analyze the set of parameters to determine the associated subframes and receive the subframes in accordance with a schedule.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method includes receiving, at a medium access control (MAC) entity, protocol data units (PDUs) corresponding to one or more Internet protocol (IP) flows, routing the PDUs from the MAC entity to respective radio link control (RLC) entities based on a logical channel prioritization, and forwarding the PDUs from respective RLC entities to one or more packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entities mapped to each RLC entity. Another method includes receiving, at a protocol layer entity above an RLC layer of a transmitting device, a PDU, labeling the PDU with a unique PDCP instance identifier packet, and passing the PDU to a protocol layer entity below the PDCP layer of the transmitting device.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to wireless communications. Protocol data units (PDUs) can be received at a network layer from one or more transmitting nodes using a link associated with each respective transmitting node. One or more missing PDUs can be detected based, at least in part, on sequence numbers of the received PDUs. A timer can be started based on the detection of the one or more missing PDUs. In response to expiration of the timer, and without receiving the one or more missing PDUs before the expiration of the timer, a lower network layer can be notified that the one or more missing PDUs are received to prevent attempted transmitting/retransmitting or other processing of the one or more missing PDUs.

Abstract: Systems and methods adapted to provide transmission of communication acknowledgments to facilitate effective delivery and processing of acknowledgments are disclosed. Embodiments may utilize one or more special definition of header and/or control bits (e.g., length indicator, extension field, etc.), special grants (e.g., a grant to carry control PDUs and/or data PDUs with one or more ACKs), and/or one or more special logical channel/radio bearer (e.g., a logical channel having higher priority than regular data bearer traffic) for delivery of acknowledgments, to expedite processing of the acknowledgments, etc. A device receiving such acknowledgments may identify a packet as including one or more acknowledgment upon decoding/deciphering the received packet, such as by detecting a header field containing special data or by receiving the acknowledgment via a special bearer channel, whereby the acknowledgments may be extracted and delivered to upper layers without waiting for all the in-sequence packets to be received or processed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for synchronizing security parameters between access terminals and a wireless network. An access terminal and network entity can conduct a security mode procedure where the access terminal sends a security mode complete message to the network entity. On receipt of the security mode complete message, the network entity may update to new security parameters. The access terminal may initiate a mobility procedure while the security mode procedure is ongoing and may, as a result, abort the security mode procedure and revert back to the old security parameters. The access terminal can send a mobility update message to the network entity including a dedicated status indicator adapted to inform the network entity that the access terminal has reverted back to the old security parameters. In response to the mobility update message, the network entity may revert back to the old security parameters.

Abstract: Aspects relate to a priority mechanism for prioritizing network identifiers, for example SSIDs. As described herein, a UE may obtain one or more network identifier sets, each of the one or more network identifier sets having one or more network identifiers for a first RAT and a priority level, determine one or more of the network identifier sets that are under control of a second RAT, and after the determining, manage connections to the first RAT based, at least in part, on the priority level of the network identifier sets.
