Abstract: A video processing method includes receiving a virtual reality (VR) content, encoding visual data obtained from the VR content to generate a part of a coded bitstream, and encapsulating the part of the coded bitstream into ISO Base Media File Format (ISOBMFF) file (s). In one exemplary implementation, the ISOBMFF file (s) may include a timed metadata track associated with a sphere visual track, where the timed metadata track is set to signal that the associated sphere visual track contains at least one spherical region contributed from at least one region visual track. In another exemplary implementation, the ISOBMFF file (s) may include a timed metadata track associated with a region visual track, where the timed metadata track is set to signal that the associated region visual track contributes to at least one spherical region carried in at least one sphere visual track. Further, an associated video processing apparatus is provided.

Abstract: The techniques described herein relate to methods, apparatus, and computer readable media configured to perform an asset change for video data. First video data comprises a sequence of data units separated by data unit boundaries, and a sequence of error correction data units, wherein each error correction data unit is associated with one or more data units from the sequence of data units. Based on the received first video data, it can be determined whether an error correction data unit from the sequence of error correction data units associated with an asset change point of the first video data crosses one or more data unit boundaries of the first video data. Based on the determination, an asset change operation for the first video data and second video data is performed, wherein the second video data is different than the first video data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for video coding are disclosed. According to one method, a bitstream is generated or received, where the bitstream includes a first syntax and a second syntax. The first syntax is related to a target number of bits used to represent a set of third syntaxes and each third syntax specifies one subpicture ID for one subpicture in a set of subpictures. The second syntax is related to a total number of subpictures in the set of subpicture, where a first number that can be represented by the target number of bits is equal to or greater than the total number of subpictures. According to another method, the subpicture ID syntaxes have different values for different subpictures.

Abstract: Method and apparatus of video coding using a multi-layer prediction mode, are disclosed. According to one method, a bitstream is generated at an encoder side or received at a decoder side, where the bitstream corresponds to coded data of current video data in a current layer. The bitstream complies with a bitstream conformance requirement corresponding both the bit depth values for the current layer and the reference layer being the same and the chroma format index values for the current layer and the reference layer being the same. The current video data in the current layer is then encoded or decoded by utilizing reference video data in the reference layer.

Abstract: A method and device for switching Representations are disclosed. On the server side, leading-picture information associated with leading pictures in an open GOP (group of picture) is signalled in a media presentation description. Each leading picture corresponds to one picture preceding a RAP (Random Access Picture) picture in a segment in an output order and being coded depending on the RAP picture. At the client side, an original Representation and a target representation are received and the leading-picture information for the target Representation is determined from the media presentation description received. A switched presentation is presented, where the switched presentation switches from the original Representation to the target Representation by switching presentation from pictures in the original Representation to pictures in the target Representation at a stream access point (SAP) corresponding to the RAP picture in one segment of the target representation determined according to the leading picture information.

Abstract: A method and system of AL-FEC using MMT protocol performed are disclosed. For an MMT receiving entity, a bounded FEC configuration setting is received from an MMT sending entity. The bounded FEC configuration setting belongs to an FEC configuration group consisting of at least one FEC configuration setting having a bounded-number of stages or layers of FEC coding structure, where the bounded-number is a positive integer greater than 1. If the bounded FEC configuration setting corresponds to one FEC configuration setting having the bounded-number of stages or layers of FEC coding structure, one or more FEC source packets and FEC repair packets are received from the MMT sending entity are FEC decoded into one recovered MMT packet using a range of FEC schemes having a target number of stages or layers of FEC coding structure from 1 to the bounded-number. The process for an MMT sending entity is also disclosed.
