The present invention provides conductive carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode materials comprising aligned CNT substrates coated with an electrically conducting polymer, and the fabrication of electrodes for use in high performance electrical energy storage devices. In particular, the present invention provides conductive CNTs electrode material whose electrical properties render them especially suitable for use in high efficiency rechargeable batteries. The present invention also provides methods for obtaining surface modified conductive CNT electrode materials comprising an array of individual linear, aligned CNTs having a uniform surface coating of an electrically conductive polymer such as polypyrrole, and their use in electrical energy storage devices.

The present invention relates generally to reinforced carbon nanotubes, and more particularly to reinforced carbon nanotubes having a plurality of microparticulate carbide or oxide materials formed substantially on the surface of such reinforced carbon nanotubes composite materials. In particular, the present invention provides reinforced carbon nanotubes (CNTs) having a plurality of boron carbide nanolumps formed substantially on a surface of the reinforced CNTs to reinforce the CNTs, enabling their use as effective reinforcing fillers for matrix materials to give high-strength composites. The present invention also provides methods for producing carbide reinforced CNTs.

The present invention resides in a method for transferring images from an image-bearing surface, to a moving web or sheet. The image-bearing surface is advanced in a predetermined direction, and the receptor area of the image-bearing surface is exposed to successive images. The successive images are developed using a liquid toner comprising charged pigmented particles, in a liquid hydrocarbon carrier. A porous web is transported in synchronism with movement of said image-bearing surface into position for transfer of said developed images on said receptor area successively onto said web. In one embodiment, the web is an uncoated, non-conductive porous material. The web is treated with a fluorinated or partially fluorinated hydrocarbon surfactant hold-out material in an amount effective to reduce the penetration rate of the toner carrier into the web so as to ensure that sufficient carrier is available for complete and void-free transfer. In another embodiment, the same treatment is effective to prevent the leaching of materials from coatings such as those used in the manufacture of carbonless papers.

An overmolded pressure sensor package is provided. The pressure sensor die (Pcell) is capped so that the Pcell has enhanced rigidity to withstand stress effects produced by the molding encapsulant. The Pcell cap includes a hole located away from the Pcell diaphragm, so that external gas pressure can be experienced by the Pcell, while at the same time directing moisture away from the diaphragm. Gel does not need to be used, and instead a soft film can be deposited on the Pcell to protect the Pcell diaphragm from excess moisture, if needed. The Pcell cap can take the form of, for example, a dummy silicon wafer or a functional ASIC.

Techniques for data assignment from an external distributed file system (DFS) to a database management system (DBMS) are provided. Data blocks from the DFS are represented as first nodes and access module processors of the DBMS are represented as second nodes. A graph is produced with the first and second nodes. Assignments are made for the first nodes to the second nodes based on evaluation of the graph to integrate the DFS with the DBMS.
