Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure relate to a sidelink communication method, including: A first user equipment receives a first message from a second user equipment; the first user equipment determines, based on the first message, a first frequency used to communicate with the second user equipment, where the first user equipment supports at least the first frequency and a second frequency, and the second user equipment supports at least the first frequency; and the first user equipment sends a second message to the second user equipment at the first frequency, where the second message is associated with a unicast connection establishment process or a discovery process. Therefore, the unicast connection establishment process or the discovery process can be performed on a carrier supported by all terminal devices that perform communication, to ensure that the unicast connection establishment process or the discovery process can be correctly performed, improving sidelink communication quality.

According to the method, the SI may be transmitted on an SL in the multicast or broadcast manner. This improves SI transmission efficiency and SI update efficiency.

Abstract: A core network delivers two sets of quality of service (QoS) parameters to an access network device. The access network device selects one of the two sets of QoS parameters, and indicates the selected set of QoS parameters to the core network. An air interface rate required by the set of QoS parameters can be supported by a radio access network (RAN). In this way, a QoS parameter applied to a related user equipment (UE), a related bearer, a related packet data unit (PDU) session, or a related QoS flow can be effectively determined, and a hardware capability of an LTE base station does not need to be upgraded. In addition, the core network may set, based on a QoS parameter selected by a RAN side, a corresponding QoS management policy such as a rate adjustment policy, to facilitate data transmission between UE and the core network.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a related device. The method includes: a network device firstly sends the configuration information to the user equipment, and then the user equipment obtains a first condition based on the configuration information. Then, in a measurement process, the user equipment sends a measurement report to the network device when determining that the first condition is currently met. After obtaining the measurement report, the network device indicates at least one candidate relay device to the user equipment by using a path switch command. The user equipment determines one relay device in the at least one candidate relay device, and communicates with the network device or another network device through the determined relay device.
