Abstract: A turbine component including an outer shroud arranged within a turbine and including opposed extending portions. An inner shroud shields the outer shroud from a gas flowing along a gas path within the turbine during its operation and including opposed first and second arcuate portions extending around and in direct contact with a corresponding extending portion of the outer shroud. A first pin and second pin have a respective first end and second end. The first arcuate portion having a first engagement region for engaging the first end, and second arcuate portion having a second engagement region for engaging the second end. In response to engagement of the first engagement region and the first end of the first pin, and engagement of the second engagement region and the second end of the second pin, the inner shroud is prevented from twisting relative to the outer shroud.

Abstract: Methods for repairing composite components are provided. For instance, one exemplary method includes machining an interlocking feature into an existing component. A replacement material or core having an interlocking feature complementary to the interlocking feature of the existing component is then joined with the component. The interlocking features interlock to form a joint. The joint is then overlaid with one or more plies to rebuild the outer surface of the component and seal the joint. A bonding process can be used to chemically bond the newly joined parts together. Repaired composite components are also provided.

Abstract: A remote alignment system and a remote alignment tool for aligning a plurality of remotely operated tools are disclosed. In an embodiment, the alignment tool includes at least two sleeves. An exterior surface of each of the at least two sleeves is affixed to an exterior surface of an adjacent sleeve of the at least two sleeves. A tool retainer is disposed on an inner surface of each of the at least two sleeves for selectively retaining at least an axial position of a remote tool relative to the sleeve.

The mask is made with the part and includes an attachment ligament configured to integrally couple to the part adjacent the plurality of openings. A detachment member may optionally extend from adjacent the cover member. The attachment ligament is the sole connection to the part. The mask may have an L-shape in cross-section.

Abstract: Methods for repairing composite cylindrical components are provided. One exemplary method for repairing a cylindrical component defining an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction includes removing a damaged region of the cylindrical component. A flange extending from a cylindrical body of the cylindrical component is included in the damaged region. One or more arc segments that extend along the circumferential direction are connected with the existing cylindrical component. At least one of the arc segments includes a prefabricated flange. One or more plies are laid up to connect the arc segments with the existing cylindrical component to repair the damaged region of the cylindrical body and the prefabricated flange formed integrally with one of the arc segments replaces the damaged portion of the flange. Repaired cylindrical components are also provided.
