Abstract:
The invention is an article of headwear that incorporates an adjustment system for accommodating individuals with various head dimensions. The headwear may be formed of a crown and a visor. With respect to the crown, the adjustment system includes a first elastic material, which forms a majority of the crown, and a second elastic material, which is screenprinted or otherwise attached to a flap positioned within the crown. Regarding the visor, the adjustment system resides in a visor board configuration wherein slits are formed to separate various portions of the visor board. The slits permit the portions to move relative to each other, thereby permitting the visor to expand to accommodate stretching of the crown.
Abstract:
A Shore power HVAC system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a vehicular HVAC system with an engine compressor, a condenser, and an expansion valve and an evaporator coupled to each other in series by a plurality of conduits. The shore power HVAC system includes an electric compressor structured to compress a coolant fluid and a diverter valve structured to allow fluid to pass through a selected fluid path. The electric compressor is coupled to, and in fluid communication with the evaporator and the diverter valve. The diverter valve is further coupled to the engine compressor. Thus, a first coolant fluid loop and a second coolant fluid loop are created. The first coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the engine compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve, and the evaporator. The second coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the electric compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve and the evaporator. The diverter valve selectively directs which loop the coolant fluid may pass through.
Abstract:
An opening assist mechanism is for the cradle assembly of a circuit breaker including a housing enclosing separable contacts, and an operating mechanism for opening and closing the separable contacts. The operating mechanism includes a trip bar and a cradle assembly. The cradle assembly includes a first toggle link, a second toggle link pivotally coupled to the first toggle link by a first pivot, and a cradle member pivotally coupled to the second toggle link by a second pivot. The cradle member includes a third pivot and a latching portion structured to engage the trip bar when the cradle assembly is disposed in a position corresponding to the separable contacts being closed or otherwise closeable. The opening assist mechanism comprises an actuator, such as a kicker pin, disposed on the cradle member and structured to engage and move at least one of the first and second toggle links in response to an actuation of the operating mechanism. In this manner, the opening assist mechanism resists the tendency of the first and second toggle links to jam in an over-center configuration.
Abstract:
An air compressor, air reservoir and an air dryer each are provided on wheeled frame. Compressed air charges the reservoir and is dehumidified in the dryer for simultaneous delivery to plural air ventilation systems worn by individuals.
Abstract:
A structure for vertically housing an electronic component is disclosed as including a bottom support member and a top support member. The top support member is substantially parallel to the bottom support member. An open space is formed between the top support member and the bottom support member whereby the electronic component may be placed into the open space in a vertical orientation. A ventilating structure is disposed outside of the open space and is capable of channeling air into a middle portion of the electronic component in the open space.
Abstract:
The invention provides compositions and methods for making and using sterically enhanced antagonist aptamer conjugates that include a nucleic acid sequence having a specific affinity for a target molecule and a soluble, high molecular weight steric group that augments or facilitates the inhibition of binding to, or interaction with, the target molecule binding partner by the target molecule when bound to the aptamer conjugate. The present invention also provides methods and formulations for ocular delivery of a biologically active molecule by attaching a charged moiety to the biologically active molecule and delivering the biologically active molecule by iontophoresis. Iontophoresis of a biologically active molecule that is conjugated to a high molecular weight neutral moiety, in enhanced by substituting the high molecular weight neutral moiety with a charged molecule of comparable size.

Abstract:
In a process for preparing an olefinic hydrocarbon mixture comprising at least 5% by weight of mono-olefin oligomers of the empirical formula: CnH2n where n is greater than or equal to 6, a feedstock comprising n-butene and propylene in a molar ratio of about 1:0.01 to about 1:0.49 is contacted under oligomerization conditions with surface deactivated ZSM-23. The resultant mono-olefin oligomers comprise at least 20 percent by weight of olefins having at least 12 carbon atoms, wherein said olefins having at least 12 carbon atoms have an average of from about 0.8 to about 2.0 C1-C3 alkyl branches per carbon chain.
Abstract:
The invention provides molds and mold inserts useful in the production of contact lenses. In particular, the invention provides high optical quality molds and inserts useful for manufacturing silicone hydrogel contact lenses.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process comprising polymerizing via irradiation from a light source, a reaction mixture comprising at least one monomer and at least one photoinitiator wherein at least about 90% of incident light emitted by the light source is filtered to produce a soluble, high molecular weight polymer.
