摘要: A coaxial cable connector assembly comprising a rear body comprising an outer body member and an inner body member, wherein the rear body is positionable in a disengaged position and an engaged position, and a coupler rotatably engaged with and positioned forward of the rear body, wherein the coupler defines an inner channel extending through the coupler between a front portion of the coupler and a rear portion of the coupler positioned opposite the front portion, a thread at the front portion of the coupler, a nominal portion defining a nominal inner span along the inner channel, and an outer conductor engagement portion that tapers inwardly from the nominal portion that extends forwardly along the inner channel to the front portion of the coupler, wherein the outer conductor engagement portion is structurally configured to contact an outer conductor of the coaxial cable.

摘要: A compressible electrical contact, manufactured from a tube, includes a first contact end, a second contact end opposing the first contact end, and a medial portion disposed between the first contact end and the second contact end. The medial portion includes a plurality of divaricated cut sections based on at least one divaricating pattern cut into the tube. The at least one divaricating pattern preferably includes an upper tapered section and a lower tapered section such that a plurality of tapered slots are formed after the tube is cut and when the compressible electrical contact is substantially compressed.

摘要: A method for making an RF connector having an outer conductor and an inner conductor includes the steps of plating the outer conductor and the inner conductor of the RF connector with at least one corrosion-resistant metallic material; dispensing and/or injecting a material comprising an epoxy phenol novolac based resin. in a volume between the outer conductor and the inner conductor of the connector; heating the RF connector with the injected material to a temperature between about 150° C. to about 380° C. in a substantially dry nitrogen-based environment; and allowing the RF connector to cool.

Each variation of connector assembly includes at least one conductive outer housing, one or more dielectrics, and conductors, some of which may be configured as compressible electrical contacts manufactured from a tube. One embodiment of the compressible electrical contact includes a first contact end, a second contact end opposing the first contact end, and a plurality of cut sections defined by at least one cut angle measured between a pair of outwardly extending opposing inner surfaces, an innermost cut distance, and an outermost cut distance. Each of the plurality of divaricated-cut sections is based on at least one divaricating pattern.

摘要: A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to an equipment port, the coaxial cable including a center conductor surrounded by a dielectric material, the dielectric material being surrounded by an outer conductor, the coaxial cable connector including: a post including a first end adapted to be inserted into a prepared end of the coaxial cable between the dielectric material and the outer conductor, wherein the post includes a second end including an enlarged shoulder, wherein the enlarged shoulder has a radial face that faces away from the first end of the post, wherein the radial face is substantially flat; a body member adjacent to the post; a coupler including an internally-threaded region for engaging the equipment port; and a grounding member contacting the post and the coupler, wherein the grounding member provides an electrically-conductive grounding path through the post and the coupler while allowing the coupler to rotate, wherein the grounding member includes at least one resilient portion.

摘要: A coaxial connector having an axially moveable shell in opposition to a separate and distinct body component wherein the moveable shell contains a gripping member capable of having the front portion displaced radially inwardly by the body so that the gripping member is positioned within the connector body and between the connector body and the coaxial cable and secures the cable to the connector and environmentally seals the junction while at the same time the shell contains a structure to move a rear portion of the gripping member radially outwardly upon compression. In some embodiments disclosed herein the shell contains a structure to prevent a rear portion of the gripping member from moving radially inwardly upon compression. Other connector shell embodiments may be made from a one-piece stamping instead of a machined component and thereby deliver a manufacturing cost savings.

摘要: A coaxial cable connector for attachment to an end of a coaxial cable is disclosed. The coaxial cable connector has a body having a forward end and a rearward end. An internal surface extends between the forward end and the rearward end defining a longitudinal opening and with a cable receiving area proximal the rearward end and a jacket stop proximal the forward end. A post is positioned in the body proximal the forward end and has a first end and a second end with a bore extending therebetween. An insulator is movably disposed in the bore of the post and has a through-passage, and a movement limiter. A gripping member is disposed within the longitudinal opening of the body proximal the rearward end and provides a gripping action as the gripping member axially moves toward the forward end of the body.

摘要: A radio frequency (RF) connector block assembly having a plurality of connector pin assemblies mounted within a multi-connector block is disclosed. Each connector pin assembly has a dielectric and a contact pin positioned in a housing. Multiple housings may be independently removably mounted in the multi-connector block with independently movable contact pins. A first end of each contact pin is adapted to provide electrical continuity with an external component, for example, a connector, and a second end of each contact pin terminates distally in a connection feature, which may be connected to an external structure, for example, a printed circuit board (PCB). Each contact pin moves axially in response to movement of the connection feature by engagement with the PCB.
