Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support time division duplexing (TDD) for dual connectivity (DC) to different radio access networks (RANs). A DC connection may be established between a user equipment (UE) and both a first RAN and a second RAN. A reference TDD configuration for the first RAN and a designated TDD configuration for both the first and second RAN may be identified. The designated TDD configuration may have a first set of uplink subframes and the reference TDD configuration may have a second set of uplink subframes that is a subset of the first set of uplink subframes. Downlink transmissions of the first RAN may be transmitted according to the reference TDD configuration, and uplink transmissions of the first and second RAN may be transmitted according to the designated TDD configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support splitting resources among different types of control information and uplink data for transmission on an uplink shared channel. A base station may transmit a grant indicating resource elements (REs) of an uplink shared channel allocated to a user equipment (UE) for an uplink transmission. The UE may process the grant and split the granted REs between different types of uplink control information (UCI) and uplink data based on a reference payload size. The UE may generate an uplink transmission based on the splitting of the REs, and may transmit the uplink transmission in the REs of the uplink shared channel indicated in the grant. The base station may monitor the REs of the uplink shared channel for the uplink transmission in accordance with the splitting of the plurality of REs.

A scheduler may further provide an indication whether the same, common reference resource is used, or a different reference resource. A scheduler may further indicate a different reference resource as needed. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

The UE determines a maximum repetition level and a repetition value, based on the coverage level, for communicating with the node. The UE generates a multibit repetition range identifier that indicates the repetition value based on the maximum repetition level. The UE transmits the multibit repetition range identifier.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive scheduling information for a transmission associated with a particular radio access technology (RAT) of a 4G RAT or a 5G RAT, wherein the scheduling information identifies a particular resource of one of a first set of resources for the 4G RAT or a second set of resources for the 5G RAT, wherein one or more resources of the first set of resources are guaranteed for the 4G RAT based at least in part on a reference 4G time division duplexing (TDD) configuration, and wherein the one or more resources of the first set of resources and the second set of resources do not overlap in a time domain; and transmit or receive the transmission using the particular resource. Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, CC1 may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and CC2 may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for CC1 (on CC2), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on CC2. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on CC1 for CC2 beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on CC2 may be used to perform the beam recovery for CC1.
