Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various procedures and methods for accelerated secondary cell (SCell) activation when carrier aggregation (CA) is configured. A scheduling entity receives, from a network entity, an indication of anticipated data for a user equipment (UE) in an idle mode. The scheduling entity determines supplemental wake-up information based on the carrier aggregation capability of the PCell. The scheduling entity transmits a wake-up message to the UE. The wake up message is configured to cause the UE to wake up in a CA configuration using the PCell and one or more SCells, based on the supplemental wakeup information.

Abstract: In an embodiment, an AP executes a CCA protocol to determine whether to begin transmission within a DMTC window of a radio frame having first and second blocks of subframes. The AP transmits a multi-subframe DRS within the DRS subframes that is scrambled in accordance with a CSI-RS scrambling rule that determines how the second DRS subframe is to be scrambled based on whether the first DRS subframe is included among the first block of subframes or the second block of subframes. At least one UE monitors the DMTC window, and descrambles the CSI-RSs in the multi-DRS subframe based on a CSI-RS descrambling rule that determines how the second DRS subframe is to be descrambled based on whether the first DRS subframe is included among the first block of subframes or the second block of subframes.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for synchronization for wideband coverage enhancement. A user equipment (UE) may receive a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) in a subframe of a frame. In one example, the PSS may be received in each of a first plurality of consecutive symbols of the subframe. In another example, the SSS may be received in each of a second plurality of consecutive symbols of the subframe, wherein the second plurality of consecutive symbols is after the first plurality of consecutive symbols within the subframe. The UE may synchronize with a base station based at least in part on the PSS and the SSS received in the subframe. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to event triggers for independent links. For example, an event trigger may be based on measurements from multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, an event trigger may be based on aggregated measurements from multiple links.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. More particularly, aspects of the present disclosure provide multiplexing schemes which may be suited for the single carrier waveform. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit multiplexing of multiple, different data streams without destroying the single-carrier properties of the waveform. Additionally, or alternatively, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide unequal error protection, unequal bandwidth allocation, and/or the like as part of the multiplexing schemes. Examples of multiplexing schemes described herein include in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) multiplexing, superposition quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) based at least in part on layered bit mapping, polarization division multiplexing of QAM with superposition coding, and frequency division multiplexing using UE-specific beams.

A first device may receive a channel reservation request from a second device, over a shared or unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band, the channel reservation request including a first expected response time duration to receive a channel reservation response in response to the channel reservation request. The first wireless device may transmit a channel reservation response in response, and receive a directional transmission according to the channel reservation request. The second device may transmit a directional channel reservation request on a transmit beam, the directional channel reservation request including a first expected response time duration to receive a channel reservation response the first device in response to the directional channel reservation request. The second device may receive the channel reservation response during the first expected response time duration and transmit a directional transmission according to the directional channel reservation request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may perform an access procedure to obtain access to a shared radio frequency spectrum band during a measurement window and generate a synchronization signal (SS) burst comprising a plurality of SS blocks. The base station may perform a beam sweeping first transmission of the SS burst over the shared radio frequency spectrum based at least in part on the access procedure. In the first transmission or a second transmission, the base station may transmit at least one of a first indication of a time of access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band with respect to the measurement window, a second indication of a transmission beam associated with the SS block, and a third indication of a quantity of remaining SS blocks from the plurality of SS blocks to follow the SS block in the measurement window.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for selecting a time division duplexing (TDD) frame structure for communicating with a user equipment (UE) via a shared radio frequency spectrum in which a listen before talk (LBT) procedure is performed prior to transmitting. A frame based equipment (FBE) frame starting location for FBE frames is determined where the FBE frame starting location is offset from a starting location of the TDD frame structure and spans successive TDD frames. In some cases, the TDD frame structure may be configured such that the UE does not need to perform an LBT procedure, and thus the LBT process may be transparent to the UE, allowing UEs that are not specially configured to operate using an LBT procedure to use the shared radio frequency spectrum.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to initial network access in a network deployed over a downlink unlicensed band paired with one or more UL bands are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device in a downlink unlicensed band, a first broadcast communication signal during a discovery time period configured based on a network discovery configuration. The first broadcast communication signal includes a configuration for requesting a second broadcast communication signal when there is no second broadcast communication signal detected within the discovery time period. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a request for the second broadcast communication signal based on the configuration. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device in the downlink unlicensed band, the second broadcast communication signal outside of the discovery time period in response to the request.
