Abstract: Aspects relate to managing a device-to-device communication link via radio resource control (RRC) layer signaling. In an example operation, a first wireless communication device establishes a unicast link with a second wireless communication device over a device-to-device communication interface and determines that the unicast link is to be reconfigured with at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device then sends a link reconfiguration request to the second wireless communication device via a first RRC message over the communication interface. The first RRC message includes the at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device receives a link reconfiguration response from the second wireless communication device via a second RRC message over the communication interface based on the link reconfiguration request and determines whether to reconfigure the unicast link using the at least one updated parameter based on the received link reconfiguration response.

Abstract: Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining one or more sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX) configurations associated with at least a communication on a sidelink, determining a wake up indication configuration associated with the one or more sidelink DRX configurations, monitoring for at least one wake up indication from at least one other UE based on the wake up indication configuration, the at least one wake up indication indicating a sidelink DRX on phase associated with the sidelink DRX configuration, deciding an action for the sidelink DRX on phase based on the at least one wake up indication for the at least one communication on the sidelink, and performing the action in accordance with the decision.

Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a processor of a wireless device for discontinuous reception. The processor may monitor for sidelink control signaling from a base station using a radio of the wireless device during a sidelink control signaling monitoring duration. The processor may receive sidelink control signaling that allocates a sidelink communication resource and schedules a sidelink communication. The processor may perform the scheduled sidelink communication based on the received sidelink control signaling. The processor may place the radio of the wireless device into a low power mode outside of the sidelink control signaling monitoring duration when no sidelink communication is scheduled.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE), for example, used with a Vulnerable Road User, determines a relative position of the UE and sends a report of the relative position to one or more vehicle On-Board Units (OBUs), wherein the report further includes an identification of the one or more reference points. The relative position may be with respect to one or more reference points, which may be stationary or moving. The relative position may be determined and reported based on identifiers for the one or more reference points and distance or distance vectors to each of the one or more reference points. The relative position may be determined based on data from one or more one board sensors, such as radar, lidar, ultrasound, or camera, as well as with wireless transceivers. The relative position may additionally include a heading and a placement with respect to one or more street elements.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure to techniques for sidelink re-discovery without repeating beamforming in millimeter wave (e.g., Frequency Range 2) bands. For example, a Tx UE may complete a first beam training with a Rx UE. The Tx UE may generate a discovery message that includes at least one of: an indication of a beam training reference signal (BT-RS) sequence index of the first beam training; an indication of a timer for changing the BT-RS sequence; or an indication of a second BT-RS sequence to be used by the Tx UE before an expiration of the timer. The second BT-RS sequence may be indicated as an index to a set of BT-RS sequences including the BT-RS sequence associated with the first beam training. The Tx may transmit the generated discovery message to the Rx UE.
