    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first kind of synchronization signals from a first synchronization source and may receive a second kind of synchronization signals from a second synchronization source. Additionally, the UE may determine a first priority for the first synchronization source and a second priority for the second synchronization source based on whether each synchronization source is connected to a global navigation satellite system from information in the synchronization signals. Accordingly, the UE may then select the synchronization source with the higher priority and communicate with one or more additional UEs based on synchronizing with the selected synchronization source. In some cases, the first kind of synchronization signals may include sidelink synchronization signals, and the second kind of synchronization signals may include data-based synchronization signals (e.g., demodulation reference signals).

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a wireless device may broadcast a discovery preamble to identify a receiving device or to identify a suitable beam for communicating with a receiving device prior to broadcasting a discovery message to the receiving device. In such systems, the wireless device may use the techniques described herein to generate the discovery preamble and to reduce interference between discovery preamble transmissions and avoid data loss. In one example, a wireless device may append a cyclic prefix (CP) to a discovery preamble with a suitable length to protect the discovery preamble from interference from another transmission. In another example, the wireless device may generate a cyclically periodic signal including multiple copies of the discovery preamble so a receiving device may be able to receive a portion of the signal and identify the discovery preamble.

    Abstract: To improve the performance of a user equipment (UE) with V2X capability using two radio access technologies (RATs), such as NR V2X and LTE V2X capabilities, a method is disclosed for the UE having a first and a second RAT component to allocate or adjust resources for V2X transmission using the first RAT and/or V2X transmission using the second RAT to avoid or reduce potential collisions. The second RAT component may receive from the first RAT component information on first resources for V2X transmission using the first RAT. The second RAT component may determine if there is a potential collision between the first resources for V2X transmission using the first RAT and second resources for V2X transmission using the second RAT. The second RAT component may change the second resources if there is a potential collision. The first and second RAT components may transmit their respective V2X transmissions to UEs.
