Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating, at a first device, a traffic advertisement indicating availability of data to be sent by the first device to at least one second device. The method also includes sending the traffic advertisement during an initial portion of a neighbor aware network (NAN) data link (NDL) time block. The method further includes sending first data to the second device during the NDL time block. The first data is sent independently of receiving an acknowledgement (ACK) responsive to the traffic advertisement from the second device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for discovering and establishing an optimal data path between a source device and a destination device of a first network by employing one or more other networks having a network protocol different from the first network. The techniques of the present disclosure may include receiving a route request message from the source device at an edge device connected to both a first network and a second network, and forwarding the route request message via the second network. In some examples, the data path that offers an improved link metric and/or a minimum hop count may be established by routing traffic along a data path employing a plurality of networks (e.g., WLAN, cellular or Ethernet) between the source device and the destination device.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes selecting a logical channel of a plurality of logical channels at a first electronic device of a neighbor aware network (NAN). The logical channel indicates a particular communication channel of a plurality of communication channels and indicates a set of transmission windows of a plurality of transmission windows. The method also includes generating a message indicating that the first electronic device is available to communicate with other electronic devices of the NAN and identifying the logical channel. The method further includes transmitting the message to a second electronic device of the NAN.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for authentication during fast initial network link setup within wireless communication systems are disclosed. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication is provided. The method includes generating an aggregated message, the aggregated message comprising a pairwise master key identifier (PMKID) and an extensible authentication protocol re-authentication protocol (EAP-RP) frame. The method further includes transmitting the aggregated message.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for independent basic service set based data paths for neighbor aware networks are described herein. In some aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication in an independent basic service set is provide. The apparatus comprises a receiver configured to receive a service discovery frame from a device in a neighbor aware network. The apparatus comprises a processor configured to determine a timing for an announcement traffic indication message window, wherein the timing is defined as an offset from a beginning of a discovery window for the neighbor aware network. The apparatus comprises a transmitter configured to transmit an announcement traffic indication message during the announcement traffic indication message window. The service discovery frame comprises an independent basic service set availability attribute defining a duration of the announcement traffic indication message window.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and devices for modifying relay operation of a wireless device are disclosed. In one aspect an apparatus for modifying relay operation of a wireless node comprises a processing system configured to generate a message requesting the wireless node to enable access point operation of the wireless node or instructing the wireless node to disable the access point operation of the wireless node. The message comprises a relay activation information element. The message comprises one or more of a field indicating a time for the wireless node to enable the access point operation or disable the access point operation and a field indicating whether the message is requesting the wireless node to enable the access point operation or instructing the wireless node to disable the access point operation.
Abstract:
Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, an access point (AP) communicates with at least one wireless station (STA) and supporting a plurality of communication devices and communication modes on a communication medium, establishes a single-link communication mode with the at least one wireless STA and at least one communication device of the plurality of communication devices over a single-link, establishes a multi-link communication mode with the at least one wireless STA and the at least one communication device over a multi-link, and dynamically transitions between the single-link communication mode and the multi-link communication mode based upon a determination related to a best mode of delivery for a next period.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems related multi-link wireless communication. A method may include establishing, between the first WLAN device and a second WLAN device, a multi-link association that enables a first wireless communication link and a second wireless communication link. The method may include determining a temporal key for the multi-link association. The method may include encrypting a first and second media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) based on the temporal key. The method may include preparing a first frame including the encrypted first MPDU and a second frame including the encrypted second MPDU. The method may include assigning packet numbers from a set of sequential packet numbers to the first and second frames. The method may include transmitting the first frame over the first wireless communication link and the second frame over the second wireless communication link.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a device participating in a setup procedure to efficiently propose a range of values for a negotiated parameter. The techniques may reduce setup time, for example, allowing a responder to accept a value within the proposed range which may eliminate overhead associated with some of the back and forth message exchange of typical negotiations.
Abstract:
A transmitting (Tx) access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) may be configured to designate a parent ML element and at least one child ML element in the network management frame, e.g., the beacon frame or probe response frame, and at least one non-AP MLD may be configured to receive the network management frame and apply the parent ML element to the child ML element.
