Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a multi-panel device may determine, for each antenna panel of the multi-panel device, a coverage region over which the multi-panel device may communicate using that antenna panel based on an array gain pattern of that antenna panel. For example, the multi-panel device may determine, for each antenna panel of the multi-panel device, a coverage region over which the multi-panel device may communicate using that antenna panel to avoid the formation of a grating lobe from that antenna panel. The multi-panel device may dynamically adjust the coverage regions associated with the antenna panels of the multi-panel device based on determining that an interference metric exceeds a threshold interference level or based on determining that a power or thermal condition of the multi-panel device fails to satisfy a power or thermal constraint of the multi-panel device.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmission-adjusting wireless node may receive a transmission transmitted by a power-reporting wireless node via a sidelink channel. The transmission may include information relating to a transmit power of the transmission. The transmission-adjusting wireless node may determine a transmission-specific estimated path loss of the sidelink channel based at least in part on the transmit power of the transmission. The transmission-adjusting wireless node may adjust, based at least in part on the transmission-specific estimated path loss, a transmission property of the transmission-adjusting wireless node to obtain an adjusted transmission property. The transmission-adjusting wireless node may transmit a communication to the power-reporting wireless node using the adjusted transmission property. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to mitigating maximum permissible exposure (MPE) constraints based on user equipment (UE) feedback are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits, to a second wireless communication device, a plurality of reports, each report indicating an allowable transmission power level at the first wireless communication device satisfying an MPE parameter. The first wireless communication device receives, from the second wireless communication device, a first configuration based on an MPE profile associated with the first wireless communication device in response to the plurality of reports. The first wireless communication device transmits, to the second wireless communication device, a first communication signal over a first beam based on the first configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a mapping between a set of synchronization signal block resources and a set of operating frequencies within a frequency band. The UE may identify a parameter of a synchronization signal block based on an operating frequency of the set of operating frequencies for conveying the synchronization signal block and a direction of a beam for conveying the synchronization signal block. The parameter may include an index of the synchronization signal block. The UE may monitor for the synchronization signal block based on the identified parameter.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to determining an improved beam weight for UL and/or DL transmissions are provided. A wireless communication device transmits uplink-downlink beam reciprocity information and receives via an antenna array of the wireless communication device, a plurality of downlink beam reference signals based on a beam selection. The wireless communication device receives a downlink communication signal using a reception beam configured based on an adjusted plurality of weights. Additionally, the wireless communication device adjusts a plurality of weights for the antenna array based on the received plurality of downlink beam reference signals and the UL-DL beam reciprocity information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information from a base station that indicates a set of resources for the UE to establish sidelink communications with another UE in a wireless network. The UE may transmit a first set of reference signals using a first set of beams to determine a set of neighboring candidate UEs for a sidelink connection. The UE may then transmit a second set of reference signals on a second set of beams to the neighboring candidate UEs, and may select a second UE located in the determined neighboring set using various beam scanning procedures. The UE may identify a transmit beam associated with the second UE, and may establish the sidelink connection using the identified transmit beam.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to measure and report a beam combination parameter to a base station to improve generation of a dynamic beam for beamformed communications. In some examples, the UE may measure the beam combination parameter in terms of angular spread/coverage area of individual beams, array or signal gains at antennas or panels of the UE, additional panel/antenna module related information, etc. Based on the reported beam combination, the base station may generate the dynamic beam and indicate a beam configuration to the UE for subsequent communications. In some examples, distinct beam combination parameters may be reported for each component carrier or subband in a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration (e.g., inter-band CA or intra-band CA).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a first wireless device may transmit, via a first beam, a first set of data and a first reference signal associated with the data on a data channel for beam refinement. The first wireless device may further transmit, via a second beam, a second set of data and a second reference signal on the data channel for beam refinement. A second device may receive the first set of data and first reference signal in addition to receiving the second set of data and second reference signal. The second device may transmit, to the first device, beam refinement feedback information for the first beam and the second beam based on receiving the first reference signal and the second reference signal on the data channel. Thus, the first device may refine beams based on a data transmission over a data channel.
