Abstract: Rate-matching and channel estimation are disclosed for new radio (NR) user equipments (UEs). In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes obtaining coexistence information associated with neighboring wireless operations according to a legacy radio access technology (RAT) coexisting with a new radio (NR) RAT. The coexistence information includes a number of ports associated with reference signals of the legacy RAT, a frequency pattern of the reference signals of the legacy RAT, and a subframe type of corresponding subframes of the legacy RAT with transmission segments of the NR RAT. The method also includes determining one or more reference signal occasions of the legacy RAT coinciding with a shared downlink direction communication for the NR RAT and legacy RAT. The method further includes rate-matching reception of NR downlink transmissions within the shared downlink direction communication around the one or more reference signal occasions. Other aspects are described and claimed.

Abstract: A scheduling offset between an uplink and downlink radio frame timing structure of a user equipment (UE) may be updated to provide for more efficient utilization of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes in a non-terrestrial network. For instance, different UEs may experience different round trip delays (RTDs) with a non-terrestrial cell. Different UEs may be configured with different scheduling offsets such that scheduling delays may be reduced and HARQ processes identifiers may be reused more rapidly. Additionally or alternatively, wireless communications systems may define one or more separation distances (or timing thresholds) for timing between communications and HARQ processes may be reused based on the separation distance threshold (e.g., such that a satellite may reuse a HARQ process ID for two scheduled communications that have not yet been performed by the UE).

A frequency band configuration for a full-duplex slot may be indicated, where a frequency band configuration may include one or more downlink frequency bands and one or more uplink frequency bands. In some cases, a frequency band configuration may also include one or more guard bands. A user equipment (UE) may determine the frequency band configuration for a full-duplex slot based on a frequency configuration indication, which may include an index for a table of frequency band configurations, one or more bitmaps, or respective start and length indications for each frequency band. A frequency band configuration may apply to one slot or to multiple slots.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information within a control resource set (CORESET) configured with a wideband demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and including disjoint segments of resource blocks (RBs). The downlink control information may be located at least partially within a first segment of the disjoint segments and a second segment of the disjoint segments may be exclusive of the downlink control information. The downlink control information may include a grant of a set of resources for a downlink shared channel that overlaps with the CORESET. The UE may determine a rate matching operation for the wideband DMRS for a downlink shared channel for portions of the set of resources that overlap with the second segment of the disjoint segments, and receive the downlink shared channel on the set of resources according to the determined rate matching operation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain access to a base station by performing an initial access procedure within an initial access bandwidth that contains control channel resources. The UE may receive a configuration of a downlink bandwidth part (BWP) following the initial access procedure, and may determine that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth. In some cases, the UE may make the determination based on an indication sent from the base station. For instance, the indication may be provided as part of one or more control channel configurations transmitted to the UE. Based on determining that the downlink BWP fully contains the initial access bandwidth, the UE may monitor for control information in the downlink BWP using control channel resources in the downlink BWP that correspond to control channel resources used in the initial access bandwidth.

A wireless device may determine rate matching resources of an uplink channel based on the rate matching configuration. The wireless device may determine rate matching resources of a downlink channel based on the rate matching configuration. The wireless device may transmit a first message on the uplink channel or the downlink channel, respectively, where the transmitted channel includes the rate matching resources. The wireless device may receive a reference signal on one or more resources of the downlink channel or the uplink channel, respectively, where the one or more resources of the respective channel correspond to the rate matching resources on the transmitted channel.

A user equipment (UE) to provide hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for multiple physical channels (e.g., multiple physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH)) scheduled via cross component carrier. The UE may monitor control channel occasions, to receive wireless communications from a base station. For example, the UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) messages that may schedule multiple PDSCH over different component carriers. The DCI messages may include an indication of a timing offset for HARQ feedback for the multiple PDSCH. In some examples, the UE may be configured to receive multiple DCI messages and order the DCI messages based on component carrier indices or a PDCCH occasion, or both. The UE may then determine a slot to transmit HARQ feedback for the multiple PDSCH based on an indication in a latest DCI message identified according to the ordering.
