    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide a mechanism for a wireless node to identify resources that are controlled by a different wireless node in the wireless backhaul communications network and in some cases autonomously transmit certain transmissions using resources of the different wireless node. A first wireless node may receive signaling that indicates whether such transmissions may be autonomously transmitted via configuration information or a flag provided in signaling to the first wireless node. The first wireless node may in some cases determine that autonomous transmissions are enabled based on a type of communication or node that provides the information for the transmissions from the first wireless node. In some cases, a priority associated with the transmissions may be used to determine whether autonomous transmissions are enabled.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a method of operating a user equipment for wireless communication with a network. In some aspects, the UE establishes a connection to a network and obtains a control plane message from the network. The control plane message may include one or more types of policy information if a size of the one or more types of policy information is less than or equal to a maximum payload size of the control plane message, or information indicating at least a network location from where the one or more types of policy information may be obtained by the UE over a user plane if the size of the one or more types of policy information is greater than the maximum payload size of the control plane message, or a combination thereof.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A transmitting device may be communicating via a relay wireless communication link. The communicating may include communications using a plurality of bearers. The transmitting device may identify a packet for transmission on the relay wireless communication link belonging to a first bearer. The first bearer may have an associated quality of service (QoS) parameter set. The transmitting device may configured a header of the packet that is processed by a relay wireless device to convey an indication of the QoS parameter set. The transmitting device may transmit the packet including the configured header on the relay wireless communication link and according to the QoS parameter set.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for priority-based carrier selection in a system using multiple component carriers (CCs). A mapping may be provided that maps different applications that may be present at a user equipment (UE) to one or more CCs. Each application may have an associated application priority, and each carrier associated with an application may also have an associated CC priority. A UE may select a subset of CCs for a transmission based on the mapping between an application providing a packet for the transmission and the priority associated with each CC. A UE, when receiving transmissions, may identify one or more applications running at the UE and use the mapping to determine a subset of CCs to monitor for transmissions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) that is configured to transmit a message to a neighboring UE via multiple formats, identify a service parameter indicative of a format to be used for the message. The UE may convey information indicating the service parameter from a first layer of the UE to a second layer of the UE, wherein the first layer is an upper layer with respect to the second layer. The UE may generate, by the second layer and based at least in part on the information, the message in the format for communicating with the neighboring UE. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are claimed and described.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may experience poor communication with a network access device, and the network access device may configure the UE to connect to, and route communications through, one or more relay nodes (e.g., which may be another UE, a network operator-deployed relay, etc.). Techniques are described whereby these relay nodes may autonomously form a wireless backhaul network. Sequential implementations are considered such that the size of the wireless backhaul network may scale efficiently. In some examples, the wireless backhaul network may form by reusing existing connectivity establishment procedures. Importantly, the proposed techniques enable a relay to possess (e.g., be configured with) functionality that may traditionally be associated with a UE, base station, and gateway. Such multi-faceted functionality may enable the described sequential formation of wireless backhaul networks with tree topology.
