Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and user equipment (UE) may utilize an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) within a common search space to establish a MulteFire connection. The common search space may include a common PDCCH (C-PDCCH) and a MulteFire system information block (SIB-MF1) grant. The base station may define one or more common search spaces for the SIB-MF1 grants and C-PDCCH and signal the resource allocation for the common search spaces to the UE within a master information block (MIB). Each common search space may include a fixed set of control elements that the UE monitors for decoding the SIB-MF1 grants and C-PDCCH. In some cases, the base station may hardcode resources for the SIB-MF1 grants and C-PDCCH. Alternatively, the base station may signal the resources for each of the SIB-MF1 grants and C-PDCCH via reserved bits in the MIB.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for reduced timing between certain downlink communications and responsive uplink communications relative to certain legacy systems (e.g., legacy LTE systems). A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, in a control channel, a first grant identifying a first set of resources of a first data channel on which the UE is to monitor for one or more second grants, the first data channel being downlink. The UE may monitor the first set of resources in the first data channel for the one or more second grants, the one or more second grants identifying a second set of resources of a second data channel on which the UE is to perform data communications. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the monitoring the first set of resources, a feedback message associated with receipt of the one or more second grants.

In some aspects, the communicating involves hopping between tones within the interlace structure during different communication intervals.

Abstract: Flexible waveform synthesis is disclosed for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks. In order to accommodate variable transmission resources, a transmitter may construct an M×N grid to model a resource element (RE) map of transmission resources available to the transmitter within a shared communication channel, where M corresponds to a number of symbols for a scheduled physical signal and N corresponds to a number of tones of a transmission bandwidth for the transmitter. The transmitter may then map the M×N grid to the RE map and puncture one or more REs associated with the subbands unavailable for transmission in the transmission resources. The transmitter may then transmit a transmission according to the unpunctured REs of the RE map.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In one example, the apparatus may be a base station. In certain configurations, the apparatus may transmit information indicating a narrowband frequency hopping pattern to at least one UE. In certain aspects, the narrowband frequency hopping pattern may correspond to a plurality of frames. In certain other aspects, the plurality of frames may include at least one non-anchor channel and being associated with a plurality of anchor channels. The apparatus may communicate with the at least one UE using the narrowband frequency hopping pattern, including concurrently transmitting a discovery reference signal (DRS) in each of the plurality of anchor channels at a start of each hopping frame. In certain aspects, communication on the plurality of anchor channels may occur during the same frames.

One method includes detecting a first reference signal received from a user equipment (UE) in a reference scheduled transmission burst including a plurality of contiguous transmission time intervals (TTIs) received over a shared radio frequency spectrum band; identifying a reference TTI in which the first reference signal is received; determining a contention window size usable by the UE to contend for access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band; and transmitting an indication of the determined contention window size to the UE.

A user equipment (UE) in communication with a serving base station may identify that the UE is a potential victim of interference from a neighboring base station. The UE may transmit an interference coordination message to the neighboring base station. The interference coordination message may request modification of one or more transmission parameters at the neighboring base station. The neighboring base station may modify its transmission parameters to decrease interference with the UE, and the UE may communicate with the serving base station after transmitting the interference coordination message.

Abstract: Techniques for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions are provided that allow for efficient use of shared radio frequency spectrum band resources. A user equipment (UE) may determine a duration of an AUL transmission and modify an uplink waveform or provide an indication to a base station of one or more channel resources that may be available for base station transmissions, in order to more fully utilize shared radio frequency spectrum band resources within a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT). A base station may activate or deactivate AUL transmissions through downlink control information (DCI) transmitted to the UE. A UE and base station may exchange various other control information to provide relatively efficient autonomous uplink transmissions and use of the shared radio frequency spectrum band resources.
