Abstract: The present disclosure discloses apparatuses, systems, and methods of wireless communication that use an adaptive hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) procedure and a multi-threaded HARQ procedure for improving HARQ buffer utilization and management. A user equipment (UE) can transmit a reset NACK to reduce the amount of HARQ buffers needed for concurrent HARQ processes. A base station can transmit different redundancy data in a HARQ retransmission depending on the types of NACK the UE transmitted. The base station can communicate with the UE using multiple light HARQ processes or threads that use less HARQ buffers than a typical HARQ procedure. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, based at least in part on a determination that a scheduling offset is less than a beam switching latency threshold, a set of beams for communicating with a set of transmit-receive points (TRPs), that use single downlink control information for scheduling, based at least in part on at least one of a transmission configuration indicator codepoint mapping or a control resource set configuration. The UE may communicate with the set of TRPs using the set of beams based at least in part on determining the set of beams. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for uplink channel transmission for multiple transmit receive points (TRPs). In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) resolves overlapping physical uplink control channels (PUCCHs) in a slot or overlapping PUCCH(s) and PUSCH(s) that are mapped to a same TRP in a multi-TRP scenario and that are mapped to two or more different TRPs in the multi-TRP scenario. For example, in a multi-TRP scenario that includes two TRPs, the UE may eliminate overlap of these uplink channels for each of the two TRPs individually and may additionally eliminate overlap of these uplink channels between the two TRPs.

Abstract: For unlicensed high-frequency bands such as mmW bands as used in 5G NR communications, either by regulation or for coexistence with licensed frequency bands, there may be a need for a contention-based access procedure such as the LBT procedure. A challenge is to find a suitable sensing beam to functions as a proxy for a set of transmission beams. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus is configured to determine a set of transmission beams for a transmission opportunity, determine a sensing beam for the set of transmission beams based on a set of beam sensing criteria; and initiate an LBT procedure by sensing an energy on the determined sensing beam. The apparatus may then use the LBT procedure to obtain the access to and transmit data on the determined set of transmission beams.
