    Abstract: Methods and network devices are disclosed for traversal, within a network configured for bit indexed forwarding, of a subnetwork having nodes not configured for bit indexed forwarding. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, from a first network node not configured for bit indexed forwarding, a data message comprising a local label and a message bit array. Bit values in the message bit array identify intended destination nodes for the message. The embodiment further includes modifying the message bit array to exclude as intended destination nodes for the message any nodes not represented by one or more relative bit positions associated with the local label and stored in an ingress filter data structure. In addition, the embodiment includes forwarding a copy of the data message to a second network node, which is configured for bit indexed forwarding, identified in an accessed entry of a bit indexed forwarding table.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a server has connectivity to a network that includes a plurality of nodes. The server stores a context identifier that is associated with backup path information stored at a particular node of the plurality of nodes, the backup path information indicating a backup path in the network. The server sends to the particular node a probe packet having a data plane instruction label that includes an identifier of the particular node, the context identifier and server identifier information. The context identifier in the probe packet causes the particular node to retrieve the backup path information and send the probe packet to a next hop node in the backup path based on the backup path information. The server determines whether the probe packet is received at the server after traversing the backup path, and validates the backup path for the particular node accordingly.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a method, system, and apparatus is for storing an assigned operations, administration and management (OAM) bitstring in a memory in a BIER (Bit Index Explicit Replication) enabled router, the OAM bitstring being assigned to a BIER domain, the semantic of the OAM bitstring being to replicate and forward the OAM bitstring to neighboring bit-forwarding routers (BFRs), generating an OAM probe packet including the OAM bitstring, setting a BFR ID associated with a first BFR as a BIER header bitstring in the OAM probe packet, setting a TTL (time to live) field in the OAM probe packet to be 2, sending the OAM probe packet to a next hop BFR, and performing one of receiving the OAM probe packet back from the first BFR, and taking an alternative action if the OAM probe packet is not received back from the first BFR.

    Abstract: A server compiles a software program with a randomly generated string to produce compiled code. The server also computes a hash of the compiled code to produce a unique identifier for the software program. Upon receiving a request from a user to download the software program, the server generates a transaction for a blockchain that has a transaction identifier and the transaction including a user identifier for the user and the unique identifier. The server embeds the transaction identifier and the unique identifier with the software program, and downloads the software program to a computing device associated with the user.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for forecasting the expected quality of a call. In some examples, a system or method can generate a plurality of scenarios from network metrics, retrieve historical ratings for the network metrics from users, and assign the historical ratings for the network metrics to the plurality of scenarios. The system or method can also filter one or more users based on similarities of the historical ratings for the plurality of scenarios with current network metrics, and forecast an expected call quality based on the historical ratings of the one or more filtered users.
