    Abstract: Some examples of the disclosure are directed to systems and methods for augmenting and/or minimizing environment audio based on video characteristics associated with a video communication session facilitated by a video communications application. The video characteristics include activation of an outward facing camera. In response to detecting the activation of an outward facing camera, an electronic device augments an environment audio stream associated with the video communication session and attenuates a first person audio stream associated with the video communication session such that the user listening to the audio stream hears audio that has the environmental audio emphasized while the first person audio is deemphasized. In response to detecting the activation of an inward facing camera, the device emphasizes the first person audio stream and deemphasizes the environmental audio stream.

    Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) with improved phase noise compared to other VCOs. The VCO may include a first cell and a second cell separated by common-mode (CM) isolation circuitry to reduce an amplitude of CM noise at an output signal. The CM isolation circuitry may inductively couple the first cell to the second cell for generating the output signal based on a resonant frequency range including resonant frequencies of the CM isolation circuitry, the first cell, and the second cell. As such, the first cell and the second cell may each include a portion of an entirety of the CM noise. In some cases, the portions of the CM noise on the first cell and/or the second cell may improve a signal to noise ratio of the output signal.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein include an optoelectronic sensing device having a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL), a resonance cavity photodetector (RCPD), and a tunnel junction. The VCSEL is at least partly defined by a first set of semiconductor layers disposed on a substrate. The first set of semiconductor layers includes a first active region. The VCSEL is configured to emit laser light towards the substrate, upon application of a first bias voltage, and undergo self-mixing interference upon reception of reflections or backscatters thereof. The RCPD is vertically adjacent to the VCSEL and is at least partly defined by a second set of semiconductor layers disposed on the substrate. The second set of semiconductor layers includes a second active region. The RCPD is configured to detect, upon application of a second bias voltage, the self-mixing interference. The tunnel junction is disposed between the first active region and the second active region.
