    Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to determining a new multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration for a MBMS that is backward compatible with a legacy MBMS configurations. A base station determines a MBMS configuration. The MBMS configuration includes at least one non-optional field that indicates compatibility with a first user equipment (UE) having a first MBMS capability or compatibility with a second UE having a second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration also includes a sub-carrier spacing indication for a MBMS corresponding to the first MBMS capability or the second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration is broadcasted to the first UE and the second UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for increasing physical random access channel (PRACH) capacity using orthogonal cover codes (OCCs) in wireless communications systems are described. A base station may transmit a PRACH configuration that indicates PRACH resources for system access, for example, in a system information block (SIB). A user equipment (UE) may receive the PRACH configuration, and may identify PRACH resources that support OCCs for system access. For example, PRACH configurations with small time domain spacing between PRACH resources may support OCCs. The UE may determine whether to transmit random access (RACH) preamble messages using OCCs in the PRACH resources, and may transmit a RACH preamble message to the base station based on the determination. In some cases, the base station may additionally indicate PRACH resources not configured for OCCs, and the UE may determine which set of resources to transmit in based on one or more parameters.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that improves power savings and reliability of communication for DRX/eDRX modes. A base station may receive an indication from a network entity that a UE is in a DRX/eDRX mode. The base station may configure a WUS mode for the UE corresponding to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode. A UE may receive the WUS mode from the base station. When a UE is configured for relaxed RRM measurements for a first cell and moves to a second cell that supports a relaxed RRM measurement, the UE may return to a regular RRM measurement for a time period. When a UE configured for a WUS mode for a first cell moves to a second cell that supports the WUS mode, the UE may return to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode without the WUS mode for a period of time.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for secondary cell (SCell) configuration signaling and activation procedures. For example, certain aspects provide a method for configuring a plurality of secondary cells of a base station for a user equipment. The method includes receiving, at the user equipment from the base station, a message including at least one configuration parameter applicable to the plurality of secondary cells. The method further includes configuring the user equipment for the plurality of secondary cells based on the at least one configuration parameter.
