Abstract: A UE transmits to a source base station a capability of the UE associated with a bandwidth class or a band combination. The capability is associated with a handover in which the UE maintains connections with the source base station and a target base station. The UE receives a handover message comprising at least one of a target base station configuration to apply during handover execution or a source base station configuration to apply during handover execution based on the capability of the UE. The UE establishes a connection with the target base station and maintains a connection with the source base station over a period of time during the handover. The UE communicates with the source base station and the target base station during handover execution using at least one of the target base station configuration or the source base station configuration.

Abstract: Support for multicast and broadcast data transmissions and acknowledgement feedback for the transmissions are being considered in 5G new radio (NR). Resource allocation techniques are provided to allocate uplink control channel resources for acknowledgement of downlink multicast/broadcast (MC/BC) data transmissions. An apparatus, such as a user equipment, receives a multicast/broadcast (MC/BC) configuration indicating a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource set for transmitting MC/BC acknowledgment (ACK)/negative acknowledgment (NACK), and a unicast configuration indicating a second PUCCH resource set for transmitting unicast ACK/NACK feedback. The apparatus also receives MC/BC data from a base station. The apparatus determines a first PUCCH resource from the first PUCCH resource set for transmitting MC/BC ACK/NACK feedback in response to the received MC/BC data and based on the received MC/BC configuration. The apparatus transmits the MC/BC ACK/NACK feedback to the base station in the determined first PUCCH resource.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating sleep mechanisms for read-only mode devices in a dedicated carrier are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes triggering a transition to an active mode, from a sleep mode, based on an occurrence of an active mode transitioning trigger event. In some examples, the active mode transitioning trigger event includes at least one of a system information transmission occasion, a control information transmission occasion, or a user data transmission occasion. The example method also includes transitioning to the active mode, from the sleep mode, based on the occurrence of the active mode transitioning trigger event. In some examples, the occurrence of the system information transmission occasion or the control information transmission occasion may occur during a CAS region of a broadcast transmission, and the occurrence of the user data transmission occasion may occur during the broadcast transmission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling repetitive transmissions for low latency systems is disclosed. For example, a base station may determine whether an uplink coverage parameter for a UE communicating with the network entity on an uplink communication channel satisfies an uplink coverage threshold, and transmit an activation message for repetition-based uplink communications to the UE based on a determination that the uplink coverage parameter for the UE communicating with the network entity on the uplink communication channel satisfies the uplink coverage threshold. Further, a UE may receive an activation message for repetition-based uplink communications from a network entity, and perform repetitive transmissions on the uplink communication channel for the duration indicated by the one or more transmission parameters in the activation message, the repetitive transmissions being configured based on the uplink sTTI pattern.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving improved wake-up signals (WUS) between a base station and a user equipment (UE). The UE can receive a configuration for discontinuous reception (DRX) or extended DRX (eDRX). The UE can also determine whether to monitor for a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource. In some aspects, the UE can determine whether to monitor for the WUS during the DRX WUS time resource or the eDRX WUS time resource based on a duration of a DRX time gap between DRX WUS resources and a paging occasion and an eDRX time gap between eDRX WUS resources and the paging occasion. The base station can configure the UE for DRX or eDRX. The base station can also determine whether to transmit a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource.

Abstract: A wakeup signal (WUS) group that may be divided into WUS sub-groups, criteria or metrics for dividing the WUS group into a set of WUS sub-groups, and signaling or messaging to support the division of the WUS group into the set of WUS sub-groups are provided. For example, a set of UEs may be divided into WUS sub-groups based at least in part on respective frequencies of occurrence of paging occasions for the set of UEs (e.g., based at least in part on traffic type, observations regarding past paging occasions, predictions regarding future paging occasions, and/or the like) and/or based at least in part on other considerations. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for the mapping of network device-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a network device such as an MME) to base station-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a base station).

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications, and more specifically to positioning reference signal (PRS) enhancements for enhanced machine type communication (eMTC). An example method generally includes determining a first bandwidth within a larger system bandwidth to transmit a first positioning reference signal (PRS) to a first type of user equipment (UE), determining a second bandwidth within the system bandwidth to transmit a second PRS to a second type of UE, and transmitting information associated with the first PRS and the second PRS.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE) includes communicating with a base station using a baseline channel code. The UE indicates to the base station, using the baseline channel code, support for an additional channel code that is different than the baseline channel code. The UE receives, from the base station, an indication to operate using the additional channel code. Then, the UE receives a first transmission on first set of resources and a second transmission on a second set of resources from the base station, the first transmission being encoded with the baseline channel code and the second transmission being encoded with the additional channel code.
