Abstract:
In one embodiment, a device in a network reserves first and second sets of local resources for an anomaly detection mechanism. The device reports the first set of local resources to a supervisory node in the network. The device applies one or more anomaly detection rules from the supervisory node using the first set of reserved resources. The device receives one or more anomaly detection rules from a peer node in the network. The device applies the one or more anomaly detection rules from the peer node using the second set of reserved resources.
Abstract:
A classifier node in a service function chaining system receives a media stream from an endpoint device. The media stream is associated with a media session between the endpoint and at least one other endpoint. The classifier node determines a service function path for the media stream. The service function path includes an ordered list of service functions to process the media stream. The classifier node determines a session identifier for the media stream and encapsulates the media stream with a Network Service Header. The Network Service Header includes an indication of the service function path and a metadata header with the session identifier.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a failure of a service function at a service node in a service chain, receiving a packet at the service node, and processing the packet at the service node according to a flag associated with the service function and set based on a criticality of the service function. An apparatus is also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A method for load balancing based on metadata in a network service header. The method includes receiving a packet or frame of a traffic flow, wherein the packet or frame has a payload and the network service header including metadata and service path information for the traffic flow identifying the service path, and the metadata comprises classification information of the packet or frame, extracting, by a service header processor of the load balancer, the classification information of the metadata from the packet or frame, and applying, by a load balancing function of the load balancer, a load balancing policy on the packet or frame based on the classification information of the metadata.
Abstract:
A web browser configured to execute on a network element receives a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document including HTML network service tags. The network service tags include commands to cause a corresponding network action to be taken in connection with the network element, such as configuring and/or causing information to be read from the network element. The web browser determines, based on each HTML network service tag, the command to cause the network action to be taken in connection with the network element. The web browser issues the determined command for each HTML network service tag to a corresponding application program interface (API), which in turn cause the network action to be taken in connection with the network element.
Abstract:
A plurality of data sets are compiled in a memory. A first data set comprises a location mapping of an item of interest within a predetermined environment, and a second set comprises energy usage data within the predetermined environment. The first data set is correlated, via a processor, with the second data set to locate a subset of energy usage data in the second data set associated with the item of interest. A third data set is generated by combining the first data set with the subset of energy usage data in the second data set to increase an accuracy of the location mapping of the item of interest based upon the subset of energy usage data. The third data set is applied to a computing resource.
Abstract:
A plurality of time and motion data sets are correlated at a network connected device. The time and motion data sets track an item of interest, and at least one of the time and motion data sets comprises energy consumption data or wireless local area network location data. Physical presence for the item of interest is determined based upon the correlating of the multiple time and motion data sets. Based upon the physical presence of the item of interest, an unacceptable condition for the item of interest may be determined. The unacceptable condition for the item of interest is remedied.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for facilitating centralized issue tracking. The method includes receiving information on a case from an issue tracking system (case information). The method facilitates executing a tagging method stored in a memory device that reads the case information, determines whether a part of the case information is desired information, and then tags the desired information. Finally, the method facilitates communicating the tagged information to a centralized database, where the centralized database stores the tagged information, and where the tagged information is accessible to the issue tracking system and at least one other issue tracking system.
Abstract:
A health status for a user is determined at a first network connected device based on health history stored at the first network connected device. Energy usage of a second network connected device utilized by the user is monitored by the first network connected device via messages sent to the first network connected device. A change in the health status of the user is predicted by the first network connected device based upon the messages sent to the first network connected device. Operation of at least one of the second network connected device or another network connected device is modified in response to predicting the change in the health status of the user.
Abstract:
A context-driven publication option is received over a network at an adaptive publish subscribe broker from a publishing network device. The context driven publication options are presented over the network to a subscribing network device. A selection of a context-driven subscription is received over the network at the adaptive publish/subscribe broker from the subscribing network device. A publication configured for network management and operations is received at the adaptive publish/subscribe broker. Publications are filtered at the adaptive publish/subscribe broker for the subscribing network device according to the selection of the context-driven subscription.
