Abstract: A method of controlling hydraulic fluid flow to an implement of a material handling vehicle includes coupling a boom arm to a vehicle frame for rotation about the vehicle frame, rotating a boom arm with respect to the vehicle frame with an actuator, coupling an attachment to the boom arm for rotation with respect to the boom arm, sensing a pressure of fluid in the actuator, communicating the sensed pressure to a control system, determining a baseline pressure of the attachment based upon the sensed pressure of the fluid in the actuator, and limiting fluid flow to the actuator with a control valve in response to the sensed pressure of the fluid in the actuator being above the baseline pressure.

Abstract: An assembly for hoisting and lowering a drill string of a drilling rig includes a multiple displacement hydraulic cylinder having a blind end, a rod end, and a single piston rod configured for slidable extension and retraction movement within the interior space of the cylinder. The interior space is defined by three chambers, each chamber having a port allowing switchable flow of hydraulic fluid into and out from the cylinder. The assembly also includes a pumping and switching system with hydraulic fluid connections to each port of the cylinder. The pumping and switching system is configured to switch the direction of hydraulic fluid flow through each of the ports of the three chambers, thereby providing the assembly with a plurality of hydraulic fluid flow path combinations. Each flow path combination provides a different speed-to-force ratio for extending or retracting the piston rod, thereby hoisting or lowering the drill string.

The valve system further includes a second valve assembly including a second inlet/outlet port, a second pilot port through which the pressurized gas must flow before being introduced to the first pilot port, and a valve body at least partially receivable within a second port of the cylinder, wherein the second inlet/outlet port and the second pilot port are integrally formed as a portion of the valve body.

Abstract: Inside a valve housing equipped with a first flow path and a second flow path that connect in parallel with a first port and a second port, there are provided a needle valve body that opens/closes a throttle hole in the first flow path, a check valve that opens/closes the second flow path, and a piston that performs an open/close control of the needle valve body through the interaction of the pressure of a fluid introduced into a pressure chamber and the spring force of a compression spring. Abstract: A fan control system includes a tank, a pump, a hydraulic motor, a fan, and a control valve. The control valve is adapted to selectively direct a flow of hydraulic fluid from the pump through the control valve into a pressure control chamber of the hydraulic motor or from the pressure control chamber to the tank to vary the control pressure therein to move the hydraulic motor's swashplate between forward and reverse positions. The control valve is adapted to selectively direct hydraulic fluid from the pump into the pressure control chamber such that the control pressure therein is pressurized to an idle pressure to move the swashplate to an intermediate position between the forward and reverse positions such that the output shaft rotates at an idle rate which is less than the rotational speed of the output shaft when in the forward mode.

Abstract: In a method for operating a hydraulic device for providing a supply to hydraulic consumers (V) on a plastics injection moulding machine, provision is made of a pump (10) with a volumetric delivery characteristic that results in cyclic pulsations and of a servomotor (11) with multiple poles that result in cyclic pulsations. The pressure at the hydraulic consumer (V) is detected and is input as an actual value into a pressure regulator (13) that readjusts the servomotor (11), on the basis of a predefined pressure profile, to a pressure setpoint value at the hydraulic consumer (V). The cyclic pressure pulsation is minimized in that, by means of a rotational angle sensor (20), the rotational angle (φ) of the pump (10) and/or of the servomotor (11) is detected and correlated with the cyclic pulsations, and in that, from this, a corrective value or a corrective function is determined and is transmitted to the pressure regulator (13) with control subordinate to the regulation of the pressure setpoint value. Alternatively or in addition, this is achieved in the case of a hydraulic device also in that, as corrective means for the pressure regulation, said means being subordinate to the consideration of the pulsations, the number of components of the pump (10) that result in the cyclic pulsations and the number of components of the servomotor (11) that generate cyclic pulsations are equal, or one is a multiple of the other.
