Abstract: A management device managing terminal devices includes a memory, a receiver, a controller, and a transmitter. The memory stores: area management information in which area specifying information specifying an area where the terminal device is positioned and area kind information indicating characteristic of the area are associated with each other; and memory management information in which the area kind information and memory setting information on memory regions for respective functions used by the terminal device are associated with each other. The receiver receives a request message including the area specifying information of one of the terminal devices. The controller specifies the area kind information corresponding to the one terminal device based on the request message and acquires the memory setting information corresponding to the specified area kind information from the memory. The transmitter transmits the acquired memory setting information to the one terminal device.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed toward intelligently selecting the operating parameters of wireless access points (WAPs) deployed in a wireless environment so as to minimize or at least reduce interference in that wireless environment. A WAP continually measures the characteristics of the wireless channels used in the wireless environment and obtains measurements of channel metrics for those channels. The WAP stores the channel metric measurements as a channel metric history and analyzes the channel metric history to determine correlations between the channel metric measurements and various timeframes. The WAP selects one or more of its operating parameters based on the channel metric history and the correlations identified. Operating parameters include the radio frequency band and channel to transmit on. A centralized control server may also receive, store, and analyze channel metric histories from multiple WAPs and issue instructions to those WAPs identifying values for their respective operating parameters.

Abstract: All or a portion of a timeslot of a slotted communication system may be dynamically designated for transmitting or for receiving. For example, a timeslot originally designated for receiving information at a wireless node may be temporarily designated for transmitting information from the wireless node. Such a designation may be made to accommodate a temporary asymmetry in traffic flow between wireless nodes or may be made based on other criteria. In some aspects, a resource utilization messaging scheme may be employed to mitigate interference associated with the designation of timeslots for transmitting or receiving.

Abstract: A device of a RAN may receive first traffic associated with a first network type service, second traffic associated with a second network type service, and core network data associated with a core network that provides the first network type service and the second network type service. The device may calculate a per QCI split based on the core network data, and may calculate an initial resource split based on the per QCI split. The device may provide, to a first device, data identifying the initial resource split, and may receive a traffic bias per QCI based on providing the data identifying the initial resource split. The device may calculate a final resource split for the first traffic and the second traffic based on the traffic bias per QCI, and may cause the final resource split to be implemented via resources associated with the RAN.

Abstract: An apparatus for adapting hyper cells in response to changing conditions of a cellular network is disclosed. During operation, the apparatus collects data regarding network conditions of the cellular network. In accordance with the collected network condition data, the apparatus changes an association of a transmit point from a second cell ID of a second hyper cell to a first cell ID of a first hyper cell. Virtual data channels, broadcast common control channel and virtual dedicated control channel, transmit point optimization, UE-centric channel sounding and measurement, and single frequency network synchronization are also disclosed.
