摘要： A fire retardant pillow top mattress has a base which is covered by a fire barrier material. A ticking covers the fire barrier material. Sheets of these combined materials are formed into a top, a bottom and sidewalls for the mattress. In a pillow top mattress, the pillow top and the gusset between the mattress and the pillow top are formed in a like manner. The intersecting planar surfaces are mated between a flame-retardant treated edge binding tape. The mated surfaces are sewn with a flame retardant thread and the mattress, pillow top and gusset are encapsulated with fire retardant components. The edges of the sidewalls and the mattress cover are serge stitched with a flame retardant thread.

摘要： A washable fabric covered mattress pad involves the combination of a layer of resilient foam with a layer of fabric, both of which layers are machine washable and dryable. The fabric, either manmade or natural fiber material, is flame laminated to one side of the layer of foam. The non-covered side of the foam layer frictionally engages a mattress for non-slip self-positioning of the mattress pad without requiring straps or other specific holding mechanisms. A second or additional layers of foam of varying physical characteristics and/or thicknesses may be added through heat bonding thereof in a predetermined pattern to the non-covered side of the first layer of foam. Such arrangement results in a fabric covered, completely washable self-positioning mattress pad, such as having a preferred thickness generally in a range of from about one to about four inches.

摘要： The invention concerns a vehicle seat, in particular for aircraft, comprising: a cushion made of plastic foam, a supporting body of an open-cell, resilient plastic foam with a first relative density; a middle layer with a second relative density different from the first; and a covering material. The layers are bonded together. A flame-resistant intermediate layer may be arranged between the supporting body and the covering material. The intermediate layer may be formed from a lattice or mesh of high temperature-resistant fibers or threads. The middle layer (18) is a nonwoven fabric of at least one fiber layer of needled or thermally bonded fibers or threads of synthetic and/or natural materials which are preferably applied to a carrier layer by needling.

摘要： A cushion or pillow for use by making upholstered furniture comprises a generally block- or plate-shaped foam core (2) and a fibrous stuffing material (6) which surrounds the core. The stuffing material (6) includes at least one layer or web of a cable fiber material, the layer being dimensioned and retained to completely enclose the core. The long and generally uniformly oriented cable fibers or filaments are retained and the stuffing material does not include free or loose fibers. Accordingly, it is not necessary to make specific demands with respect to the tightness of cover fabrics, since there are no loose fibers which are able to penetrate the cover. The fact that the long fibers or filaments are continuous has also the effect that the fibers or filaments are not able to lump or become firmly bonded together and, thereby, the cushion can be cleaned by usual washing and drying.

摘要： A laminated mattress construction having outer layers of relatively soft, virgin foam material and an inner layer or core made of firmer reground, bonded foam. The thickness and firmness of the core are varied in relation to that of the outer layers to achieve a mattress having an overall compression modulus of at least 3. Individually the outer layers are so constructed as to exhibit a 25% ILD range of 10-45 lbs. and the core is so constructed as to exhibit a 25% ILD range of 20-80 lbs. The mattress is further constructed in horizontally juxtaposed sections with one section having firmness characteristics which differ from another section. Finally a removable mattress covering is provided which permits removal of the foam core and separate cleaning or replacement thereof.
