摘要: A method of operating an electrical feeder permits the electrical feeder voltage to be maintained at the minimum voltage within a voltage range based upon dynamic grouping together of electrical generators on the electrical feeder with demand response loads on the electrical feeder. A method of assessing the proper operation of a voltage control device on the electrical feeder involves detecting a number of properties of the electrical power in the electrical feeder both prior to and subsequent to a change in an operational parameter of a voltage control device. An expected effect upon the electrical feeder of one or more distributed generators is filtered from this in order to determine a net effect of the voltage control device itself on the electrical feeder. Based upon the detected net effect and a predicted baseline effect for the voltage control device, it can be determined whether the voltage control device is functioning properly.

摘要: A combination includes an AC power system and a system for improving power factor in the AC power system by continuously variable, analog control of level of reactive current introduced into a power conveying line of the AC power system. A power factor-improving circuit includes at least one channel that comprises a channel-level AC electron tube circuit and at least one associated reactive impedance element interconnected in series manner. Each of the channel-level AC electron tube circuit is responsive to a control system for continuously variable, analog control of the level of reactive current in the at least one associated reactive impedance element so that the foregoing level of reactive current changes, as necessary, in a continuously variable, analog manner to improve power factor in the power conveying line. Each of the channel-level AC electron tube circuit comprises at least one cold-cathode field-emission electron tube.

摘要: The present invention relates to an electric power control system and method therefor, and comprises a control unit 10 and a transformer 20 connected thereto. The control unit 10 detects varying input voltage in real-time, controls switching of triac devices equipped in the transformer, and applies control signal which switches triac device among a plurality of triac devices for target voltage output to the transformer 20. The transformer 20 outputs target voltage by switching tabs of triac devices according to control signal, supplies power by switching tabs of triac devices corresponding to target voltage included in control signal, and preventing EMF induced from primary coil to secondary coil by grounding the tabs of unused triac devices with N-phase for adjustment to the target voltage.

摘要: Techniques to determine settings for an electrical distribution network are described. Some embodiments are particularly directed to techniques to determine settings for an electrical distribution network using power flow heuristics. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise a model reception component, a forecast component, and an optimization component. The model reception component may be operative to receive a model of an electrical distribution network having multiple capacitor banks and multiple voltage regulators, each of the multiple capacitor banks represented in the model by a model capacitor bank, each of the multiple voltage regulators represented in the model by a model voltage regulator, the electrical distribution network having a radial layout in which power flows from a source to multiple nodes in which each node is associated with one voltage regulator. The forecast reception component may be operative to receive a forecast for demand on the electrical distribution network. The optimization component may be operative to receive the model capacitor banks and model voltage regulators and determine one or more settings for the multiple capacitor banks and multiple voltage regulators that allow for providing power within predetermined limits while reducing power loss as compared to a power loss of the existing settings or reducing power usage as compared to a power usage of the existing settings, the one or more settings for the multiple voltage regulators determined according to a heuristic in which potential settings are iteratively determined for each of the model voltage regulators based on a least squares model of load flow analysis. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
