    摘要: This invention is a rail grade load/unload rail carrier with primary vertical load bearing sub-assemblies positioned above the carrier body floor. Carrier body sub-assemblies are vertical columns with stay cables attached to rail carrier bar joist sides. The design features carrier body floor elevation slightly above rail grade, and detachable rail wheel bogies outside the carrier body, to enable motor vehicle rail grade loading/unloading. Rail wheel bogie variants may be used for rail gage adaptation. Further, loaded motor vehicles provide rail carrier motive power; drive wheels protruding downward through carrier floor apertures to bear on rail flanking traction strips. Traction strips connect to a vehicle staging platform which has; integral rails, rail line connection, and highway access. Autonomous motor vehicle carrier translation along rails and across the staging area, negates need for conventional rail terminal handling facilities. Alternatively, the staging platform provides a maneuvering surface for portable lifting equipment to handle non-motorized cargo, including intermodal freight containers and passenger enclosures.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a railway wagon comprising a load carrier and front and rear bogies. The load carrier is releasably connected to, and laterally displaceable in relation to, the respective bogies. Supporting devices are mounted at the ends of the load carrier. They support the load carrier when it is displaced in relation to the bogie. Each supporting device comprises an abutment device which is vertically operable between a pulled-up position and an extended position. At each end of the load carrier there is also a displacing driving device for displacing the load carrier relative to the bogie, and a device that counteracts tilting tendencies of the load carrier. Each abutment device comprises a sliding member, which can slide on the base in the extended position. The railway wagon can thus be displaced, for instance pivoted outwards at one end, to allow a truck to be driven on to or off the same.

    摘要: A rail road car has a deck for carrying wheeled vehicles. The vehicles are loaded from the ground by use of a movable ramp that is positioned next to a separate coupler end of the rail road car. The ramp has a locating guide, in the nature of a pair of tapered prongs, that locate in mating sockets in the end of the rail road car. The co-operation of the guides and sockets forces the ramp to align with the deck of the rail road car in a predetermined position, namely aligned centrally with the deck. The ramp has a telescoping, pivoting boom. The boom has a hitch that can be engaged by a towing vehicle, permitting the ramp to be moved into position as desired. The boom can then be collapsed and lowered out of the way of the path of the wheeled vehicles. The boom is counterweighted to facilitate manual operation.

    摘要: A novel railcar includes a floor, upstanding side walls which are connected to the floor and a top. A no slack coupler is provided for coupling adjacent railcars together to form an articulated train. The railcar includes a landing gear having a flanged wheel beneath a forward portion thereof and a bi-directional bogie mounted beneath a rearward portion thereof. The landing gear and bogie can be used to support and move the railcar on railroad tracks. Structure is provided for attaching a dolly adaptor to a rear end of the railcar and for connecting a tractor to a front end of the railcar. The railcar can be easily detached from the remainder of the articulated train, moved off of the tracks and transported around a rail yard by the tractor and the dolly adaptor so that the railcar can be loaded at a dock. Thereafter, the railcar can be easily reattached into the train on the track.

Valves in each of the main reservoir passages close the main reservoir passage when the first and second housings are separated and opens the main reservoir passages when the first and second housings are joined. An electrical coupler is also automatically coupled as the two portions of the ramp car are joined. The fluid and the electrical coupler are mounted to the respective portions of the ramp car so as to be aligned and adjust themselves with respect to the ramp car during mating.

    摘要: This is a top-lifting rotary loader and system especially suited for loading and unloading double stacking container well cars. This loader has a self-aligning loadspreader on a crane lift arm extended to revolve around and swing up and down from a vertical column. Each lift arm comprises a first parallelogram linkage with generally horizontally extending links to swing up and down from the column, and a second parallelogram linkage with generally vertical links pivotally attached to the outer lift end of the first linkage and extending to support a loadspreader free to turn thereon. The loadspreader has vertical alignment and coupling rods which turn the loadspreader to align and engage in pockets on the vehicles. A lift cylinder and/or cam track supports the arm to rotate on the column and set and pick up containers. The column can be supported on the ground if vehicles are to be moved past for loading and unloading, or the column and concentric cam track can be supported on a railway truck on a track and the column held vertical by a half-gantry on wheels on a rail parallel that for the railway truck and along the opposite side of a track or driveway for standing vehicle loading and unloading or the column can depend from a traveling gantry especially for the loader to clear over stacked containers. The loadspreader can engage the usual corner castings on the containers or novel automatic hooks especially for models and toys are provided.

    摘要: These loaders for transfer of cargo containers or semitrailers to and from railway cars etc. have parallel swinging links vertically connecting the load-spreader support end of the lift arm with the end of the arm which is mounted to a pivot. The links are free to swing back when the loadspreader engages a vehicle to cushion and carry the load-spreader aligned with the vehicle for transfer across the chord of a transfer arc. A weight extends the links out at the bottom to extend the loadspreader to swing back through vertical for least change in elevation. The load arm is supported on wheels to run on the cam track at or near the same elevation that is mounted to swing up and down on the mount about the pivot, so the cam track wheels run on a substantially uniform radius from the pivot. The inner end of the arm extends up to support the top ends of the swinging links which depend to support the outer end of the arm or vice versa. The loader for transfer of semitrailers or containers is further provided with an improved underreaching loadspreader which when being moved under the trailer is extended lengthwise the trailer by an engagement with the side edge of the semitrailer to reach the lift pads on the far side of the semitrailer.     摘要: A self-propelled rail transport vehicle for carrying a hydraulic crawler crane is provided. The transport vehicle is designed to normally travel along the rails of a track and allow crane operation either from the transport or from a ground off-loaded position. The crane may be delivered and loaded on and off the transport at any convenient ground rail location, and when taken off the transport, may be used to lift the transport from the tracks, so as to allow trains to pass unobstructed. The crane may then be used to lift the transport back on the track after which the crane may be loaded onto the transport. Once the job at a site is complete, the carrier and crane may be returned to its original location by rail or by truck. A latching mechanism is located in the center of the carrier deck of the transport. The latching mechanism is adapted to engage with a retractable pin mounted to the underside of the car body of the crane. The crane is loaded by driving it onto the carrier with its tracks perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the carrier. As the crane is driven onto the carrier, the hydraulic pin is extended and moves into its latched position to prevent forward or backward movement of the crane vehicle on the carrier, while allowing counter-rotation of the crane about the axis of the pin. The crane may thus be positioned along the longitudinal axis of the carrier without danger of falling from the platform.
