摘要: An optical element, notably an optical element for creating a retractable sheet for use in a motor vehicle, has in the final state a three-dimensional shape resulting from forming of the optical element, the optical element being designed to have an extended shape comprising: a first main surface, a second main surface, and an edge surface. A method of manufacturing involves during a first step of the method, forming the optical element to give its final three-dimensional shape in terms of the first main surface, the second main surface and the edge surface. During a second step at least one of the surfaces of the optical element is cleaned. During a third step, a functional coating is applied to the first main surface and/or the second main surface.

摘要: A vehicle interior panel includes a decorative skin and a polymer coating provided to increase material thickness at a desired portion of the decorative skin The polymer coating may be formed by a thermal spraying process in which a polymeric material is heated and deposited along an inner side of the decorative skin The decorative skin may be thermoformed from a uniformly thick sheet of thermoplastic material so that it includes a reduced thickness portion after forming. The polymeric material can be deposited along the reduced thickness portion to form the polymer coating, thereby restoring integrity or providing enhanced integrity to the decorative skin to aid subsequent material processes such as sewing or foam backfilling.

摘要: A cladding section (100, 200) for mounting upon an elongate member to be deployed underwater is shaped to suppress vortex induced vibration of the elongate member when it is subject to a fluid flow, the cladding section comprising at least one cylindrical or part-cylindrical portion (130, 130′, 130″, 230) to seat upon the elongate member and at least one strake (114,114′, 114″, 214) upstanding from the part-cylindrical portion, the cladding section being characterised in that the strake is resilient, enabling it to be deformed when subject to load and to reform following removal of the load. The cladding section may be prepared by methods involving thermoforming or moulding.
