Abstract:
The invention provides a patient interface (10) comprising a patient interface element (12, 14, 15) for delivering a breathing gas to a user and a forehead support (30). One of the forehead support and the patient interface element comprises a shaft (60) and the other comprises a hollow tube (62) in which the shaft is received, with the shaft slidable within the tube to permit adjustment of the position of the forehead support relative to the patient interface element. One of the shaft and hollow tube are elastically deformable between a deformed configuration in which the shaft can be slid within the tube and a released configuration in which the sliding of the shaft within the tube is blocked.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a device for respiration which comprises at least of one body that delimits an inner chamber from an outer chamber, a region for sealing the device against parts of the face of a patient, fastening elements for positioning the device on the patient's head and a connection for supplying respiratory gas. The device is equipped with an actuator, which when adjusted, changes the distance of at least one part of the device from at least one part of the body of the patient.
Abstract:
A mask assembly includes a mask frame including a lower portion and a neck extending from the lower portion, a cushion provided to the mask frame and adapted to contact a patient's face, a forehead support assembly provided to the neck of the mask frame, the forehead support assembly including a forehead support and a forehead pad provided to the forehead support, and an elbow assembly provided to the mask frame. The neck includes a pair of side walls spaced apart from one another along an entire length of the neck, the side walls providing an open space therebetween along the entire length of the neck that opens towards a front side of the mask assembly. The pair of side walls comprise an upper converging section wherein the pair of side walls converge towards one another in a downward direction.
Abstract:
An application device for a breathing mask arrangement includes a base portion, a holding portion structured to support a mask and pivotally mounted to the base portion for pivotal movement about a first pivot axis, a right arm element pivotally mounted to the base portion for pivotal movement about a second pivot axis, and a left arm element pivotally mounted to the base portion for pivotal movement about a third pivot axis. The right and left arm elements are each provided with a contact portion for bearing against a right and a left forehead zone respectively of a mask user. The holding portion, the right arm element, and left arm element can be pivoted with respect to the base portion about the respective first, second, and third pivot axes.
Abstract:
A respiratory mask assembly for delivery of non-invasive positive airway pressure to a user having a rigid mask shell including a plurality of slots; a soft cushion including at least one flexible sealing lip constructed and arranged to extend around an inner periphery of the cushion and to deform to provide a continuous airtight seal between the cushion and the rigid mask shell, the at least one flexible sealing lip being constructed and arranged to return to a relaxed state when the cushion is disassembled from the rigid mask shell, the soft cushion including a retaining portion; and a retaining ring configured to engage with the retaining portion of the cushion, and including a plurality of clips each positioned on respective spring arms to engage with each of the respective plurality of slots of the rigid mask shell to retain the cushion in position with the rigid mask shell.
Abstract:
The invention provides a patient interface arrangement which has a forehead support which is adjustable by a rotary knob. A sound damping means is provided for damping sounds generated when there is rotational adjustment or clattering of the adjustable components.
Abstract:
A ports cap for a mask assembly includes two closure portions adapted to seal respective ports of the mask assembly, a bridge piece that joins the two closure portions, and two gripping tabs extending outwardly from respective closure portions. Each gripping tab includes one or more ribs on at least one side thereof.

Abstract:
The invention concerns a gel covering of a patient interface. This gel covering has a mask connection area by which its side that faces away from the patient is joined with a mask body. The patient interface can be designed, for example, as a respiratory mask. On its side that faces the patient's face, the respiratory mask has thin, inwardly formed, peripheral contact lips. The respiratory mask has accessories that allow it to be fastened on the patient's head as well as a hose connection for supplying air. At least one region formed from a filler is placed in or on the walls of the gel covering. The method is used to produce the gel covering of the invention.
Abstract:
A patient interface of the present invention includes a faceplate including a plurality of headgear attachment elements, a seal member operatively coupled to the faceplate; and an adjustment mechanism coupling the seal member to the faceplate. The adjustment mechanism controls the position of the seal member relative to the faceplate such that the seal member is moveable from a first position to a second position and is maintained in the second position during use of the patient interface after being moved to the second position.
