摘要: Dynamic arm brace assemblies and methods of use are provided herein. An example device includes a torso connection member securable to a torso of a patient, a forearm support member that couples with at least a forearm of an patient, the forearm support member couples with the torso connection member so as to fix an elbow of the patient proximate the torso, the forearm support member being pivotally coupled to the torso connection member to allow for an angle between the forearm support member and a coronal plane of the patient, and a dynamic tensioning assembly that externally rotates the forearm support member and selectively sets the angle so as to stretch a shoulder capsule (capsule and adjacent tissue(s)) affected with adhesive capsulitis, reducing the adhesive capsulitis.

摘要: An orthotic device restrains a portion of the movement of a wearer's limb about a joint to train the wearer's muscles to be so limited after the device is no longer worn, preventing hyperextension. The device includes: a first and second tubular portions, and at least one resistance band. The first and second tubular portions encircle respective portions of the limb on opposite sides of a joint, and apply compression. The tubular portions are formed of elastic material, and are joined together to orient an axis of the second tubular portion at an angle to an axis of the first tubular portion, when undeformed. The first and second ends of the resistance member(s) are fixedly secured to selective positions on the first and second tubular portions, respectively, and has a length configured to bias only a portion of the range of movement of the limb away from full extension.

摘要: A positioning splint for safely and securely positioning a pediatric patient into a lithotomy position. The splint comprises a toroid, wedge-shaped splint having an anterior and posterior jaw which is attached to shoulder straps or a jacket/vest that holds the splint in place during use. The wedge splint and shoulder attachments are padded. The wedge splint may have a disposable covering. Methods of using the splint to position a patient for urinary catheterization as well as for other procedures, exams and surgeries requiring unobstructed access to the perineal and anorectal areas. Additional wrist/hand and ankle/leg straps are used for conscious patients who are uncooperative or incompetent patients or in the case of a patient with involuntary movement disorders.

摘要: A rehabilitation aid for use by persons having a need for a sling. The rehabilitation aid can be incorporated into an article of clothing and have a sleeve positioned beneath an arm of a user. The sleeve can be configured to support at least a portion of the weight of the arm and help to substantially immobilize, constrain, or restrict the movement of the upper arm. An adjustable attachment can be included to adjust arm angle. Reinforcements can also be incorporated to help distribute supported weight throughout the article of clothing.

摘要: The present invention provides method and apparatus to perform combined cognitive and motor rehabilitation on a computerized non-portable system or on single portable device. A patient can play a variety of games that require the patient to perform a variety of memory exercises which involve physical exertion. The activities of the patient are monitored with pattern analysis software which provides feedback to the patient. The feedback can include voice synthesis, video guidance, progression messages etc. Patient data obtained while the patient is performing each of the memory exercises is stored locally on a database module and then uploaded to a cloud server. A remote psychologist/psychiatrist monitors the patient by logging into the same cloud, and updating cognition exercises. The same therapist can have live chats with the patient for further interaction and coaching.

摘要: An elbow brace (10) supporting a person's elbow (E) in a desired, fixed position comprises a sleeve (12) sized to fit over the person's arm (A). One end (14) of the sleeve terminates above the person's elbow, with the other end (16) of the sleeve terminating below the elbow and above the wrist. A support pad (18) fitted into the sleeve pad supports the elbow in the desired position when the sleeve is in place. Straps (24, 26) extend from the one end (14) of the sleeve and about the wearer's neck to secure the sleeve in place.
