    Abstract: A client terminal includes a super-resolution processing section and a display control section. The super-resolution processing section 48 of the client terminal executes a super-resolution process for an inputted image on the basis of scene information indicating a feature in the image. The display control section of the client terminal outputs, to a display panel, the image having undergone the super-resolution process at the super-resolution processing section. The scene information is acquired in a process prior to a super-resolution process for a super-resolution process target image.

    Abstract: At a server 400, a rate control map storage section 430 of a compressing/encoding section 422 stores a rate control map on which an image quality deterioration tolerance is set for each compression unit. A status acquiring section 432 acquires a distribution of image resolutions and positional coordinates of a point of gaze of a user, and a map generating section 434 generates or corrects the rate control map on the basis of the acquired information. On the basis of the rate control map, a compression/encoding processing section 436 sets a target value of a data size, and compresses and encodes image data while performing feedback control. A communication section 426 transmits the data obtained after the compression, in units of partial images formed by splitting a frame.

A compression coding processing section adjusts a data size of the moving image according to a change of the communication status, by using means determined on the basis of the contents indicated by the moving image, and compression-codes data of the moving image. A communication section transmits compression-coded data to the image processing apparatus.

    Abstract: A compression coding section compression-codes an image formed by an image forming section of a server in units of a partial image smaller than one frame, and transmits the compression-coded image to an image processing apparatus via a communication section together with its formation time. An image data acquisition section of the image processing apparatus acquires the transmitted image data, and a decoding decompression section decoding-decompresses the image data for each partial image. An image processing section performs necessary processing for each of the partial images. A display control section outputs data of the partial images to a display device while changing an output target or controlling an output order according to an acquisition status of the data of the partial images.
