Abstract: A display device for displaying an image through a lens specifies a position of a pupil of a user on the basis of a gazing point on a display panel. Parameters used to correct lens distortions of images in red, green, and blue included in data of a display image are prepared in association with representative points of gazing points. The display device interpolates parameters on the basis of a positional relation between the position of an actual gazing point or a predicted value thereof and a representative point, and corrects the display image per primary color using the interpolated parameters, thereby correcting chromatic aberrations.

Abstract: A distorted image generating section directly renders an image having a distortion such that a proper image can be seen when viewed through an eyepiece lens. Specifically, the distorted image generating section calculates which position a target pixel on a view screen will be displaced to by the lens, generates a ray of light that passes from a viewpoint through a pixel at a displacement destination, and uses color information obtained by ray tracing as a pixel value of the target pixel.

Abstract: In an information processing device, a photographed image acquiring unit acquires an image which has been photographed by a camera attached to a head mount display. A region determining unit predicts a region which a user gazes at in a display image. An image analyzing unit has a first fineness processing unit and a second fineness processing unit, with the former analyzing a region corresponding to the gaze region in the photographed image with a higher fineness than the latter. An information processing unit performs information processing by using the result of analysis. An image generating unit has a first fineness processing unit and a second fineness processing unit, with the former generating a display image on the gaze region with a higher fineness than the latter. An output unit sends data of the display image to the head mount display.

Abstract: An operation object includes a polyhedron. The polyhedron includes characteristic surfaces formed by cutting each vertex of a cube at different angles. An information processing apparatus acquires a normal vector of each surface from a polarized image thereof. Further, the information processing apparatus identifies the characteristic surface by defining, as a characteristic amount, an angle formed by an average vector Na of normal vectors N1, N2, and N3 of reference surfaces that orthogonally intersect each other and a normal vector N0 of the characteristic surface surrounded by the reference surfaces. The specification result and the normal vectors thereof are used to acquire the position and orientation of the operation object.

Abstract: An image data generating block 72 of an image capturing apparatus 12 generates polarized images having two or more resolutions from luminance of polarization in two or more directions acquired by a luminance data acquiring block 70. A pixel value converting block 74 generates new image data with a predetermined parameter being a pixel value on the basis of the polarized luminance in two or more directions. A transmission image generating block 76 connects image data of two or more types on a predetermined pixel line basis and then crops the requested data, thereby stream-transferring the cropped data from a communication block 78. A target object recognizing block 80 of an information processing apparatus 10 recognizes the state of a target object by use of the transmitted data and an output data generating block 82 generates output data by use of the recognized state. A communication block 86 requests the image capturing apparatus 12 for the data including type, resolution, and region corresponding to the state of the target object.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus 12 acquires RAW images 202a and 202b by left and right cameras and performs a demosaicing process for and stepwise reduction of the RAW images 202a and 202b to generate and correct colored image groups 204a and 204b which represent picked up images with a plurality of resolutions (S10 and S12). Image process parameters 206 acquired in the course of the demosaicing process and the correction process are transmitted to a host terminal 20 together with part of colored images and data of a partial image 208 of the RAW image 202a. The host terminal 20 utilizes the image process parameters 206 transmitted from the imaging apparatus 12 to perform a demosaicing process for the partial image 208 to generate and correct a colored image 212 (S16). The host terminal 20 utilizes the colored image transmitted from the imaging apparatus 12 and the colored image 212 generated therein to generate an image 214 to be displayed (S18 and S20).
