    Abstract: An optical modulation device and an apparatus including the same are provided. The optical modulation device may include a reflector, a nano-antenna array placed opposite to the reflector, and an active layer that is placed between the reflector and the nano-antenna array. The optical modulation device may further include a first insulating layer placed between the reflector and the active layer, a second insulating layer placed between the active layer and the nano-antenna array, and a wiring structure that electrically contacts the active layer. The wiring structure may be provided in at least one of a first place between the active layer and the first insulating layer and a second place between the active layer and the second insulating layer.

    Abstract: A beam scanning apparatus includes a light source configured to emit light, and a reflective phased array device configured to reflect the light emitted from the light source and incident on the reflective phased array device, and electrically adjust a reflection angle of the reflected light reflected by the reflective phased array device, wherein the light source and the reflective phased array device are disposed such the light is incident on the reflective phased array device at an incidence angle with respect to a normal of a reflective surface of the reflective phased array device.

    Abstract: A beam scanning device includes a light modulation array and a processor. The light modulation array is configured to scan an external space based on phase modulating a plurality of light beams and, in a state in which the plurality of light beams are arranged in a first direction, sequentially steering the plurality of light beams in a second direction different from the first direction. The processor is configured to control the light modulation array to cause a degree of steering shift of the light modulation array to vary depending on whether a region of interest is located in the external space.
