Abstract: A touch sensor includes a base layer, first touch sensor columns, second touch sensor columns, and sensing lines. The base layer includes a sensing region and a non-sensing region. The first touch sensor columns extend in a first direction. The first touch sensor columns include first touch electrodes. The first touch electrodes include sub-touch electrodes in the sensing region. The second touch sensor columns include second touch electrodes in the sensing region. The second touch sensor columns are alternately arranged with the first touch sensor columns. The sensing lines are in the non-sensing region. The sensing lines include: first sensing lines electrically connected to the sub-touch electrodes, and second sensing lines electrically connected to the second touch electrodes. The sub-touch electrodes and the second touch electrodes have different widths.

An outline length of at least some of the second sensor electrodes facing the first sensor electrodes varies along the longitudinal axis of its respective second sensor electrodes.

The first and second electrode patterns and the first and second touch signal lines are all positioned at the same layer on a substrate. The first touch signal lines are independently connected to each first electrode cell.

Abstract: A flexible display device and a method of driving a flexible display device, in which the method of driving the flexible display device includes detecting a capacitance change with respect to at least some coordinates of a display area, determining whether bending is occurring through the detected capacitance change, and setting a driving mode in response to a result of the step of determining whether bending is occurring. The driving mode is converted into a bending mode when it is determined that bending is occurring, and the driving mode is set into a force touch mode when it is determined that bending is not occurring.
