    Abstract: A curved liquid crystal display (“LCD”) includes a thin film transistor (“TFT”) array substrate, a counter substrate facing the TFT array substrate, a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules of negative dielectric anisotropy and disposed between the TFT array substrate and the counter substrate, a liquid crystal alignment layer disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the counter substrate, a liquid crystal alignment base layer disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the TFT array substrate, and a liquid crystal alignment stabilization layer including projections spaced apart from each other on the liquid crystal alignment base layer between the liquid crystal layer and the liquid crystal alignment base layer, wherein the projections include reactive mesogen polymers, and one of the liquid crystal alignment layer and the liquid crystal alignment base layer includes the reactive mesogen polymers.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a gate line and a divided reference voltage line on the first substrate, a gate insulating layer in the gate line and the divided reference voltage line, a semiconductor layer on the gate insulating layer, a data line on the semiconductor layer, a passivation layer on the data line, a pixel electrode on the passivation layer, a second substrate corresponding to the first substrate, and a common electrode in the second substrate, where the gate line, the divided reference voltage line, and the data line extend to one side of the first substrate, a divided reference voltage driving line, and a data driving line, respectively, extensions are provided at ends of the divided reference voltage driving line and the data driving line, short spacers are disposed on the extensions, and the short spacers are in contact with the common electrode.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a first alignment film disposed on the first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first alignment film and the second substrate.     Abstract: A liquid crystal display having a curved surface includes: a display panel including a first display panel, a second display panel, and a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween and including liquid crystal molecules. The first display panel includes a first substrate on which a plurality of gate lines and data lines are formed, a first electrode, and a pixel electrode. The second display panel includes a second substrate facing the first substrate and a second electrode. The liquid crystal display further includes a common voltage supplier applying two voltages having a predetermined voltage difference to the first and second electrodes within a period before a frame displaying an image on the display panel; a gate driver applying a gate signal to each of the gate lines after the period; and a data driver applying a data voltage to the pixel electrode corresponding to the gate signal.
