Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may assign resource elements of a particular resource block for transmission by two or more different antennas in a fashion such that the symbols are interleaved in frequency and/or in time, which improves frequency diversity of the two or more different antennas, thereby improving uplink performance of the UE. In some aspects, when the two or more resource blocks are contiguous, then each antenna may produce an interleaved frequency division multiple access (IFDMA) waveform, which may maintain peak to average power ratio (PAPR) properties of a single channel FDMA transmission. Thus, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may achieve transmit diversity and/or frequency diversity of a stream of symbols on two or more antennas without significantly increasing the PAPR of the stream of symbols.

The apparatus may be configured to generate an interference-reduced signal for the first tone by canceling the determined first pilot signal from a first combined signal on the first tone.

Methods may include transmitting a uplink (UL) short burst from a user equipment (UE).

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for enhancing the power efficiency of low power internet of everything (IOE) devices or user equipments (UEs). A UE or IOE having a low power companion receiver maintains its full power receiver in a sleep state until it receives a wake up indicator from a base station. In response to the wake up signal, the UE or IOE powers up its full power receiver and receives data from the base station. The base station further schedules the wake up signals so as not to collide with control signals expected by UEs or IOEs without low power receivers, or those UEs and IOEs are configured to detect and react to the wake up signals.

The first, second, and third waveform shaping characteristics may be different from each other, i.e., the waveform shaping may be asymmetric. Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to the reduction in a probability of collision for grant-less transmissions from internet of everything (IOE) devices while not increasing search complexity at a base station are disclosed. An IOE device randomly selects a first access resource from a common pool, that the base station searches, to initiate a transmission. If a metric associated with the data transmission is predicted to exceed a threshold, the IOE device also randomly selects a second access resource from a collision reduction pool that the base station does not search. The IOE device notifies the base station, in the data transmission, to switch to the second access resource after a fixed period to the selected second access resource that is included in the data transmission. After the specified period, the base station and the IOE device switch to the second access resource and complete the data transmission.
