Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for management of conditional handover (CHO) configurations. A source base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with one or more CHO configurations for multiple target base stations. The CHO configurations may provide, for each target base station, one or more associated conditions that may trigger the UE to initiate a handover to the particular target base station, or to deconfigure a CHO configuration, such as based on a measurement threshold of one or more target base station measurements, one or more source base station measurements, or combinations thereof. The CHO configurations may also include failure handling information for initiating one or more subsequent handovers responsive to a failure of an initial handover attempt.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for controlling access and use of network resources and services by user equipment based on user equipment capabilities. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication by a network entity, includes: receiving, from a user equipment, a request to connect to a network, the request comprising a user equipment identifier and a reduced capability indication; determining a validity of the reduced capability indication based on at least one of: subscription data associated with the user equipment; or one or more capabilities associated with the user equipment; and making a connection decision based on the validity of the reduced capability indication.

A first UE may receive one or more control signaling messages including first scheduling parameters for a common codeword associated with downlink data for the first UE and with downlink data for a second UE and one or more second scheduling parameters for a private codeword associated with additional downlink data for the first UE. The first UE may receive a physical downlink shared channel message including the common codeword mapped to one or more first layers of the physical downlink shared channel message and the private codeword mapped to one or more second layers of the physical downlink shared channel message. Additionally or alternatively, the first UE may receive a first physical downlink shared channel message including the common codeword and a second physical downlink shared channel message including the private codeword.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To communicate using non-restricted radio capabilities, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a UE capability message to a network (e.g., via a base station) that indicates a set of radio capabilities that the UE may use to communicate. The network may identify subscription information for the UE and may determine one or more restricted radio capabilities of the set of radio capabilities based on the subscription information for the UE. The network may transmit a message to the UE that includes a radio capability modification indication indicating the one or more restricted radio capabilities and a UE radio capability identifier corresponding to the subset of radio capabilities of the set of radio capabilities that are not restricted. The UE may receive the message, identify the restricted radio capabilities, and communicate with the network using the subset of non-restricted radio capabilities.

Abstract: An on-demand scheduling request (SR) design is disclosed. Such an on-demand or triggered SR operation provides pre-configuration of user equipments (UEs) with triggered SR resources. Base stations may also configure UEs to monitor for a trigger signal within a bit field of control signaling from the base station. Upon detecting the trigger signal within such bit field, the UEs may use the triggered SR resources for transmitting triggered SR requests. Such use of the triggered SR resources may be in response to UEs detected cancelation of other periodic configured SR resources.

Abstract: In some implementations, a method of wireless communication includes obtaining, at a user equipment (UE), an allocation of frequency resources for a group common demodulation reference signal (GC-DMRS) associated with a plurality of UEs that include the UE. The method also includes receiving, at the UE from a base station, a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduled for transmission to the UE. The method includes receiving, from the base station, the GC-DMRS and the PDSCH. The method also includes generating a channel estimate based on the GC-DMRS and the allocation of frequency resources to the GC-DMRS. The method further includes demodulating the PDSCH based on the channel estimate. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A wireless network including user equipment (UE) and base stations is configured to perform position determination with low latency and synchronized to a common time within a wireless network. The UE and base stations are configured to perform positioning measurements at a specific time point or within a window around the time point in a measurement period. The time point may be relative to a timing event within the wireless network, such as the beginning or end of a positioning reference signal window or a specific message in a layer 1 or layer 2 transmission. A location server may be provided with the positioning measurements or a position estimate from the UE and provide the position estimate to an external client within the measurement period.
