Abstract: UEs may want to switch to the RRC idle state or to the RRC inactive state sooner than the expiration of the timer or without having to wait for the network to release the RRC connection. Allowing the UE to increase the rate at which it transitions to RRC idle state or RRC inactive state may allow the UE to reduce power consumption, as well as reduce signaling resources. The apparatus determines a preference between a transition to an RRC inactive state or to an RRC idle state when an RRC connection is released. The apparatus sends, to a base station, an RRC state preference indication of the preference for transitioning upon release of the RRC connection from the RRC connected state to one of the RRC inactive state or to the RRC idle state.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for configuring discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles within a DRX time period at a user equipment (UE). DRX configurations may provide that different DRX cycles have non-uniform cycle durations within the DRX time period. Such non-uniform cycle durations may provide DRX ON-durations that are aligned with a periodicity of downlink traffic to the UE in which the downlink traffic may be unaligned with timing boundaries used for wireless communications between the UE and a base station, such as slot boundaries or symbol boundaries.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive a first group downlink control information transmission associated with a UE group, where the first group downlink control information transmission may reference a second group downlink control information transmission (e.g., according to a pre-notification indication). The UE may determine a feedback condition for the second group downlink control information transmission and monitor for the second group downlink control information transmission. Alternatively, the UE may receive a second group downlink control information transmission referencing the first group downlink control information transmission (e.g., according to a post-confirmation indication), and the UE may determine a feedback condition for the first group downlink control information transmission. Based on the feedback condition, the UE may transmit feedback information, for example, indicating that the UE did not correctly receive the indicated group downlink control information transmission.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to enhancing initial access for multi-beam operations. A user equipment (UE) selects a synchronization signal block (SSB) that corresponds to a beam and has a reference signal received power (RSRP) above a threshold. The UE receives a system information block (SIB) that includes a plurality of SSB and beam-specific system information pairs. The UE selects beam-specific system information by matching the selected SSB to one of SSBs in the multiple SSB and beam-specific system information pairs. The UE establishes a connection with a base station (BS) using the beam-specific system information.

Abstract: Aspects relate to radio link management for a first type of link that is a high reliability, low-latency communication link such as ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC). Radio link failure (RLF) of the link may be determined in a wireless device that then transmits a link recovery request (LRR) communicating the RLF and a request for link recovery to a network in a reserved resource in an uplink channel using a second type of link that does not have as high priority (e.g., not as high reliability or as low-latency) as the first type of link, such as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB). The wireless device receives a grant of uplink resources from the network responsive to the LRR, where the uplink resources are used by the wireless device to transmit an RLF report to the network and are also of the second type of link.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration message that indicates a radio resource allocation and a transmission scheme for one or more first configured grant-small data transfer (CG-SDT) occasions and one or more second CG-SDT occasions. A base station may configure resources on a first communication link for scheduling requests and may transmit an indication of the configured resources over a second communication link to a first device. The first device may relay the indication of the configured resources to a second device via the first communication link. The second device may identify that resources on the first communication link are unavailable for a transmission and may transmit a scheduling request. The first device may receive the scheduling request. The first device may transmit, over the first communication link and based on the scheduling request, an indication of one or more shared channel resources configured by the base station for the transmission. The first device may receive, over the first communication link, the transmission over the one or more shared channel resources.
