Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a device may select antenna elements from a planar array to transmit or receive an orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam. The device may determine a first area (e.g., a first ring area) based on an angular direction over which the device can communicate an OAM beam with a second device and may determine a second area (e.g., a second ring area) on the planar array based on projecting the first area on the planar array. The device may select a set of antenna elements from the planar array that are located within the second area. The device may determine a complex-valued weight for each antenna element of the selected set of antenna elements and may transmit or receive an OAM beam to or from the second device via the set of antenna elements according to the angular direction.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a starting symbol of a radio frequency (RF) retuning gap between a first plurality of repetitions of an uplink transmission in a first frequency hop and a second plurality of repetitions of the uplink transmission in a second frequency hop. The starting symbol of the RF retuning gap is based at least in part on a starting symbol of the second plurality of repetitions and a quantity of symbols included in the RF retuning gap. The UE may determine an ending symbol of the RF retuning gap based at least in part on the starting symbol of the second plurality of repetitions. The UE may perform RF retuning during the RF retuning gap. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication including mode division multiplexing of data and reference signals using different orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes. An OAM transmitter may transmit a reference signal (RS) configuration information to an OAM receiver that indicates radio resources for a plurality of OAM modes. The OAM transmitter may further transmit data on a first OAM mode of the plurality of OAM modes using first radio resources of the radio resources indicated by the RS configuration information. The OAM transmitter may further transmit a reference signal on a second OAM mode of the plurality of OAM modes using the first radio resources of the radio resources indicated by the RS configuration information. The OAM receiver may receive the data on the first OAM mode and the reference signal on the second OAM mode. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to frequency hopping within a virtual BWP. In some aspects, a UE may determine a virtual bandwidth part (BWP) in which to frequency hop from a first narrow BWP to a second narrow BWP by a frequency offset. The virtual BWP may have a same subcarrier spacing as the first narrow BWP and a larger bandwidth than the first narrow BWP. The UE may perform communication based at least in part on frequency hopping within the virtual BWP. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) implement a timer (e.g., a round-trip time (RTT) timer) during which it does not monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE may initiate the timer after transmitting a first random access message or a four-step random access message, or transmitting or retransmitting a third random access message of a four-step random access procedure, or after a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for a fourth message of a four-step random access procedure. The UE may initiate the timer after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, or after a PUCCH resource for HARQ feedback for a second message of a two-step random access procedure, or after a fixed offset from the end of a PDSCH of a two-step random access procedure.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, at a user equipment (UE) from a network entity, a resource configuration message. The resource configuration message includes a first parameter corresponding to full duplex (FD) uplink (UL) and a second parameter corresponding to FD downlink (DL). The method further includes transmitting, from the UE to the network entity, a FD reference signal based on the resource configuration message. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
