    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform a first scan procedure for a first of radio frequency bands according to a default scanning order at a first subscription of the UE, store an indication of a subset of radio frequency bands of the first set of radio frequency bands for the first scan procedure, and perform a second scan procedure for a second set of radio frequency bands according to a modified scanning order based on the stored indication of the subset of radio frequency bands. In some cases, the UE may determine a relevance of the stored indication of the subset of radio frequency bands of the first set of radio frequency bands and determine the modified scanning order based on the relevance of the stored indication.

    Abstract: Various aspects relate to acquisition of system information (SI). In some examples, a UE uses a guard timer to control how long the UE attempts to acquire a particular type of SI. In some examples, a UE that has entered a cell may determine whether there are any remaining paging occasions (e.g., that may indicate an SI update) during a period of time. If there is an insufficient number of paging occasions remaining (e.g., zero or one), the UE may monitor for broadcast SI. In some examples, after sending a request for SI to a base station, a UE may also periodically monitor for SI broadcast by the base station (e.g., to avoid potential delays in obtaining the SI). In some examples, if a UE does not acquire SI, the UE may use default SIB information (e.g., that expedites reselection to another cell).

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a request to receive a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) service associated with a service area identity (SAI) and a second frequency. The apparatus performs inter-frequency cell reselection from a first cell transmitting at a first frequency to a second cell transmitting at the second frequency, the second cell being an inter-frequency neighbor cell to the first cell. The apparatus receives system information from the second cell. The apparatus determines that the second cell transmitting at the second frequency is unassociated with the SAI based on the received system information. The apparatus blacklists the SAI on the second frequency in a blacklist for at least a period of time upon determining that the second cell is unassociated with the SAI.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, information associated with a Positioning System Information Block (PosSIB) is updated based on a UE-determined PosSIB-update periodicity, a UE-determined post-PosSIB decoding time offset, a PosSIB update schedule for a PosSIB group to which the PosSIB of the first type belongs, or any combination thereof. In another aspect, a system information block 1 (SIB1) for each PosSIB in a set of PosSIBs is received by UE. Each PosSIB in the set of PosSIBs is associated with a different PosSIB type, and each SIB1 comprises a value tag and an expiration timer for a respective PosSIB in the set of PosSIBs. Each PosSIB in the set of PosSIBs in accordance with the value tag and the expiration timer of the respective SIB1.
