    Abstract: A phosphor composed by containing Ce3+ as a light emission center in a matrix garnet compound having a garnet structure. The matrix garnet compound is a solid solution composed of two or more end members, and the end members include Lu2CaMg2(SiO4)3 as a first end member. It is preferable that the matrix garnet compound is a compound containing Al. A light emitting device uses the phosphor 2 and includes a solid-state light emitting device 117. The phosphor 2 is excited by light radiated by the solid-state light emitting device 117.

    Abstract: A light-emitting device includes: a laser light source that radiates blue-based light as primary light; a wavelength converting member that emits secondary light, the secondary light including wavelength-converted light, the wavelength-converted light being the primary light converted into light having more long-wavelength components than the primary light; a first light-guiding member that transmits the secondary light emitted by the wavelength converting member; and a second light-guiding member which includes a resin material, and transmits the secondary light transmitted by the first light-guiding member, and the first light-guiding member and the second light-guiding member are connected by a connector, the connector including a numerical aperture (NA) converting member that optically connects a transmission path in the first light-guiding member and a transmission path in the second light-guiding member.

    Abstract: An endoscope light emitting device (1) is a light emitting device for use in a fluorescence imaging method. The endoscope light emitting device includes: a solid-state light emitting element (2); and a wavelength converter (3) including a first phosphor (4) that emits first wavelength-converted light (7), wherein the first wavelength-converted light has a light component across at least a whole of a wavelength range of 700 nm or more and 800 nm or less. An endoscope (11) includes the endoscope light emitting device. A fluorescence imaging method is a method using the endoscope light emitting device or the endoscope, and includes the steps of: administering a fluorescent drug to a subject; and applying the first wavelength-converted light (7) to the subject with whom the fluorescent drug has made contact.

    Abstract: A light emitting device 1 includes: a substrate 30; and a phosphor layer 40 composed in such a manner that a large number of phosphor particles 60 are adhered onto a flat surface 32 of the substrate 30. At least one of the phosphor particles 60 is a polyhedral phosphor particle 65 that is monodispersed, is derived from a crystal structure of garnet and has facets, and a median particle size D50 of the polyhedral phosphor particle 65 is 30 μm or more and a maximum thickness of the phosphor layer 40 or less. It is preferable that at least one of the phosphor particles 60 adhered onto the flat surface 32 of the substrate 30 is the polyhedral phosphor particle 65 that is monodispersed, is derived from the crystal structure of the garnet, and has the facets.

    Abstract: A light emitting device includes a solid-state light emitting element that emits a pulsed light, a wavelength converter including a phosphor that emits a wavelength-converted light having a wavelength longer than that of the pulsed light, and a light guide member including a light input end and a light output end. The wavelength converter is disposed on a light output end side of the light guide member. The pulsed light is input to the light guide member through the light input end and output through the light output end to be emitted to the wavelength converter.     Abstract: A light source device includes: an excitation light source that emits primary light; a first lens that condenses the primary light; a wavelength converting member that emits secondary light including the primary light and wavelength converted light; a sensor that detects an anomaly in the wavelength converting member; and a second lens that causes light which travels back toward the excitation light source to be incident on the sensor. The sensor detects the light via the second lens. The first lens includes (i) a first face through which the primary light enters, and (ii) a second face opposite the first face from which the primary light that has entered from the first face and transmitted through an inside of the first lens exits. The third face of the second lens has a curvature different from a curvature of the first face and the second face of the first lens.
