    Abstract: A positive electrode for this non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with: a positive electrode current collector; a positive electrode active material layer formed on the positive electrode current collector; a positive electrode tab connected to an exposed portion at which the positive electrode current collector is exposed and on which the positive electrode active material layer is not formed; and a protective layer covering the exposed portion and the positive electrode tab on the exposed portion. The protective layer is composed of a base material including a curable resin.

    Abstract: According to the present invention, a positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery is provided with an insulating tape that covers an electrode tab on an exposed part. This insulating tape has a multilayer structure that is composed of an organic material layer, a composite material layer which is formed from an organic material and an inorganic material, and an adhesive layer. The inorganic material in the composite material layer accounts for 20% or more of the weight of the composite material layer; and the inorganic material contains at least one substance selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal nitrides, metal fluorides and metal carbides. Puncture strength is ensured by means of the organic material layer, while heat resistance is ensured by means of the composite material layer.

    Abstract: This positive electrode for secondary batteries is provided with: a positive electrode collector which has a plurality of recesses and projections in the surface; an intermediate layer which is provided on the surface of the positive electrode collector having the recesses and projections; and a positive electrode mixture layer which is provided on the intermediate layer and contains a positive electrode active material. This positive electrode for secondary batteries is configured such that: the intermediate layer contains conductive material particles and inorganic material particles that have a higher resistance than the positive electrode active material; and both the ratio of the central particle diameter of the conductive material particles to the average depth of the recesses and projections of the positive electrode collector and the ratio of the central particle diameter of the inorganic material particles to the average depth of the recesses and projections of the positive electrode collector are 5:6 or less.

    Abstract: A positive electrode with a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture layer, and the positive electrode mixture layer has first and second positive electrode mixture layers. The first positive electrode mixture layer comprises a positive electrode active material composed of compound A that contains Ni, Co, Al and Li. The second positive electrode mixture layer is disposed between the first positive electrode mixture layer and the positive electrode current collector, and comprises a positive electrode active material including: said compound A; and a Li-containing compound B which is smaller in specific capacity (mAh/g) and average particle diameter than said compound A. In said compound A, a ratio of Ni to the total number of moles of the metal elements except Li is 82 mol % or more. The average particle diameter of said compound B is 55% or less of the average particle diameter of said compound A.

    Abstract: A secondary battery includes a positive electrode having a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode active material layer; a negative electrode having a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer; a separator interposed between the electrodes; a electrolyte; a positive electrode lead; and an insulating tape that covers part of the positive electrode. The positive electrode current collector has an exposed portion connected to the positive electrode lead. The positive electrode lead has an extending portion that projects from the exposed portion and an overlapping portion that overlaps the exposed portion. At least part of the exposed portion and at least part of the overlapping portion are covered with the insulating tape. The insulating tape has a substrate layer and an adhesive layer. The substrate layer contains a polyimide. The adhesive layer has an electrical resistance of 1 kΩ/mm2 or more at 500° C.
