    Abstract: According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus, such as a user equipment, configured to perform, in the user equipment, a measurement of at least one transmit beam of a cell using more than one directional receiving filter of the user equipment, determine a signal strength of the at least one transmit beam, in the measurement, separately via more than one of the directional receiving filters, and inform the cell or another cell whether the signal strength of the at least one transmit beam is detected separately via more than one of the directional receiving filters, at a receive signal strength which exceeds a threshold.

    Abstract: Described herein is a user equipment, UE, configured to establish a connection towards a first network node (e.g. source DU) via a first cell supported by the first network node (source DU). The UE receives configuration information related to performing measurements for a target cell as candidate cell for a cell change, wherein the target cell is supported by a second network node (target DU), and determines further configuration information related to monitoring validity of a timing advance value related to the target cell. The UE is e.g. further enabled to send towards the first network node (source DU) a first (L1) measurement report including target cell measurement info, and to receive from the first network node (source DU) an instruction to acquire timing advance value for the target cell. The UE then acquires timing advance value for target cell, and monitors the validity of acquired timing advance value based on the further configuration. The UE may then send towards the first network node (source DU) information regarding validity and/or invalidity of the timing advance value of target cell.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technique for performing a cell re-selection procedure for a multi-panel user equipment (MPUE) in a wireless communication network that supports network slicing. More specifically, the proposed technique involves considering a spatial separation or, in other words, orthogonality between cells that support the network slice(s) of the mobile MPUE and other neighbouring cells. The mobile MPUE camps/reselects a cell X that supports its network slices only if the spatial separation between the cell X and other neighbouring cells is deemed to be high enough by the MPUE based on parameters received from a serving network node. The parameters may be reported to the MPUE by using a dedicated or broadcast signalling. By so doing, it is possible to provide the slice-based cell re-selection procedure for the mobile MPUE, which may be effectively (in terms of inter-cell interference suppression) used in the intra-frequency scenario.
