Abstract: A method including monitoring whether a source cell has configured a terminal and a target cell for a conditional handover of the terminal from the source cell to the target cell; estimating a handover delay period if the source cell configures the terminal and the target cell for the conditional handover, wherein the handover delay period indicates a time period for which, according to a prediction of a likely future movement of the terminal, the terminal will likely not perform the conditional handover to the target cell; and at least one of informing the target cell on the handover delay period; and checking whether the handover delay period is larger than a predefined threshold; and cancelling the conditional handover configuration of the terminal and the target cell if the handover delay period is longer than the predefined threshold.

Abstract: Examples of the disclosure relate to managing Master Cell Group (MCG) configurations during PSCell (Primary Secondary Cell) changes. In examples of the disclosure a User Equipment comprises means for receiving, from a master node, preparation configurations for at least a first candidate target PSCell and a second candidate target PSCell, wherein same MCG configuration is shared among at least the first candidate target PSCell and the second candidate target PSCell. The User Equipment also comprises means for performing a PSCell change from a source PSCell to the first candidate target PSCell and retaining the preparation configurations after the PSCell change. The PSCell change is performed without a PCell change.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of wireless communications, and particularly to a network-based mechanism for early detection of failures during fast Master Cell Group (MCG) recovery. For this purpose, a Secondary Node (SN) may determine that a User Equipment (UE) experiencing an MCG failure is unable to receive a command for handover (HO) from a source MCG to a target MCG. This determination may be based on the occurrence of at least one of the following events: (i) a recovery timer (e.g., T316 timer) has expired at the UE, and (ii) a number of retransmissions performed by the SN to deliver the HO command to the UE reaches a threshold before the recovery timer expires. The SN may then report the fast MCG recovery failure to a Master Node (MN), with the indication that event (i) and/or event (ii) has occurred. This may allow the MN to take appropriate actions (e.g., properly correct the recovery timer), which may in turn decrease the interruption time caused by similar MCG failures and save network resources in the future.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technique for performing a cell re-selection procedure for a multi-panel user equipment (MPUE) in a wireless communication network that supports network slicing. More specifically, the proposed technique involves considering a spatial separation or, in other words, orthogonality between cells that support the network slice(s) of the mobile MPUE and other neighbouring cells. The mobile MPUE camps/reselects a cell X that supports its network slices only if the spatial separation between the cell X and other neighbouring cells is deemed to be high enough by the MPUE based on parameters received from a serving network node. The parameters may be reported to the MPUE by using a dedicated or broadcast signalling. By so doing, it is possible to provide the slice-based cell re-selection procedure for the mobile MPUE, which may be effectively (in terms of inter-cell interference suppression) used in the intra-frequency scenario.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus comprising means for: receiving, at a user equipment from a first access point supporting a serving cell, one or more user equipment specific allocations of a random access preamble and timing information associated with the random access preamble, the timing information indicating when the user equipment is to use the associated random access preamble; responsive to the receiving, starting a timer; and sending, to a second access point supporting a target cell, a random access request including one of the one or more random access preambles, the included random access preamble being selected based on a value of the timer and the timing information.
