    Abstract: A converged device with dual RFPA technology for a dynamic switchable mode. One example provides a communication device comprising a RF transmitter system and a controller. The RF transmitter system includes a plurality of RFPAs, each RFPA having a biasing system and outputting an output signal, and a summing junction, wherein the output signal of each RFPA are combined to form an output RF transmitter signal. The controller is configured to control the biasing state of each biasing system to a nominal bias state for a first mode of the communication device. The controller is configured to control a first plurality of offset voltages applied to each biasing system for a second mode of the communication device. The controller is configured to control a second plurality of offset voltages applied to each biasing system for a third mode of the communication device.

    Abstract: A communication device and a detachable antenna with dynamic antenna tuning is provided. The detachable antenna comprises: an electrically insulating base; a main antenna and a first antenna element, at the base, respectively operable at independent first and second given frequencies. The device further comprises: a memory associating the first and second given frequencies; an antenna port configured to detachably receive the base of the detachable antenna; a second antenna element, at the antenna port, operable to wirelessly interact with the first antenna element when the base of the detachable antenna is received at the antenna port; a circuit configured to detect wireless interactions between the second antenna element and the first antenna element; and a controller configured to: select the first given frequency using the second given frequency, as detected via the circuit; and, thereafter wirelessly communicate via the main antenna operated at the first given frequency.

    Abstract: A portable communication device and antenna device with robust rotational attachment is provided. The antenna device comprises: a base, the base being electrically conducting; an insulating core extending from the base; a clip attached to the base, the clip being electrically conducting, the clip and the base configured to cooperate such that: the base frictionally retains the clip; and the clip at least partially rotates around the base while making electrical contact thereto; and an antenna element extending from the clip along the insulating core, the antenna element shaped to at least partially rotate around the insulating core as the clip rotates at least partially around the base.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for a dual-feedback, amplifier limiter for providing a conditioned radio-frequency signal. The dual-feedback, amplifier limiter includes an input that receives a radio-frequency signal and a stacked amplifier including an input node coupled to the input, an output node, a first transistor configured as a common-base amplifier, and a second transistor configured as a common-emitter amplifier. The dual-feedback, amplifier limiter further includes an output coupled to the output node of the stacked amplifier. The output provides the conditioned radio-frequency signal. The dual-feedback, amplifier limiter further includes a radio-frequency feedback circuit coupled to the stacked amplifier. The radio-frequency feedback circuit includes a passive radio-frequency dependent reactive element in series with a radio-frequency feedback circuit resistor. The dual-feedback, amplifier limiter further includes an envelope control feedback circuit coupled to the stacked amplifier and including a current mirror and a reactive element loop filter.
