    摘要: A method of analyzing acoustic data, that includes determining fluid sound speed through connate fluid. The method involves sampling the fluid, sending an acoustic signal into the fluid between a first and a second reflective interface. Data is recorded that represents acoustic signals over time as they are reflecting from the interfaces. A smoothed first derivative with respect to time of the cumulative sum of squares (CSS) of the filtered amplitude data is determined. This first derivative is cross correlated to the time-shifted versions of itself.

    摘要: A method of determining the phase angle of an internal combustion engine camshaft relative to a crankshaft of the engine, which significantly reduces the computational burden compared to conventional methods. The cam and crankshaft position pulses are identified by corresponding clock values, and the cam phase angle relative to the crankshaft is determined by computing a simple ratio of first and second time intervals based on the clock values, and multiplying the ratio by a known angle. One of the time intervals is defined by a time difference between successive crankshaft and camshaft pulses, while the other time interval is defined by a time difference between successive crankshaft pulses. The known angle is the angle of crankshaft rotation between the successive crankshaft pulses. The cam phase angle velocity is obtained by determining a change in cam phase angle, and dividing by the intervening time interval.

    摘要: A method is provided for controlling engine stop position in a vehicle having an engine with auto stop/auto start functionality. The method includes automatically ramping down engine speed upon initiation of an auto stop event, executing closed-loop speed control of the engine when the engine speed begins to ramp down, and for as long as the engine speed remains above a threshold engine speed while ramping down the engine speed; executing closed-loop position control of the engine while ramping down the engine speed once the engine speed is less than the threshold engine speed and greater than zero; and stopping the crankshaft to within a calibrated range of a targeted engine stop position. A controller is also provided that includes a hardware module and an algorithm adapted for executing the foregoing method, and a vehicle is provided having an engine with auto stop/start functionality and the controller noted above.
