Abstract:
A sensor assembly suitable for use in an airborne shooter localization system. The sensor assembly has a pressure sensor subassembly with a pressure transducer positioned to detect pressure variations associated with a shock wave from a passing projectile or the muzzle blast following the shock wave. To substantially increase the signal to noise ratio for measurements of the shock wave, the pressure sensor subassembly attenuates pressure fluctuations triggered by turbulent airflow over the surface of the subassembly more than it attenuates the shock wave. This preferential attenuation is provided by separating the pressure transducer from the surface of the sensor assembly by a cavity large enough that the pressure fluctuations are substantially attenuated as they propagate across the cavity. Additionally, features of a housing that holds the pressure sensor subassembly facilitate use on an aircraft. Those features include flexibility that allows the sensor assembly to conform to curved surfaces, a skin that provides resistance to environmental conditions and allows the sensor assembly to be attached with an adhesive, and a body region that provides high vibrational impedance to prevent low frequency mechanical vibrations from being coupled to the pressure transducer.
Abstract:
A training knife for use primarily by military and law enforcement personnel has a blade made of a damage-resistant lightweight material, such as polycarbonate, PETG or an acrylic substance. The finish of the blade is such that it enhances the blade's light refracting and/or light reflecting properties; this can be accomplished, for example, by resorting to an oscillating sanding machine, by applying to the blade one or more abrasive media at an elevated pressure and/or by tumbling the blade in an abrasive medium to thus etch the selected portion(s) of the surface of the blade. One end portion of a lanyard can be attached to the free end of the handle of the knife, and the other end portion of the lanyard can be provided with a loop which surrounds the wrist of one hand of the person using the knife.

A card processor, which is operative to process a card having a data recording portion and an erasable/rewritable display portion comprising a reversible thermosensitive recording material, is integrally arranged with fuel dispensing equipment such as a pump apparatus. The card processor and pump controller are arranged for communication with a network terminal that connects these devices to a communications network linked to entities such as banks and other interested vendors. A user-activated server provides a touchscreen interface to the card processor.

Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a method for processing a wide variety of raw meats to yield a cooked, spiced meat product. More particularly, the present invention related to an efficient, large-scale method for preparing a spiced meat product having an improved texture and/or taste, at least in part due to the moisture content thereof, which utilizes steam-based cooking to advantageously reduce cooking time and/or energy consumption. The present invention is further directed to the cooked, spiced meat product resulting from such a method. The present invention is further directed to the cooked, spiced meat product resulting from such a method, and in particular such a product that has a shredded appearance or texture.
Abstract:
A method and a device for implementing the method, for geophysical surveying of an area (1) including continuous measurement of the earth's magnetic and electromagnetic field using a detector (6) held at a constant height (E) above the ground surface, in the order of one meter, while traversing in a criss-cross manner over the area (1) at speeds below a maximum speed (S), in the order of 10 km/h, and utilizing measured signal frequencies below a cutoff (F), being approximately the maximum speed (S) divided by twice the detector height (E), to indicate spatial variations in the measured field. Traversal distance can be measured on board the host vehicle and a real time output supplied. Simultaneously, using the same detector (6) and artificially induced magnetic fields generated by an inductive (2b and/or galvanic source (2a)), temporally varying fields having frequencies above the cutoff (F) can be measured and simply filtered out of the detector's (6) output for separate processing and storage. Temporally varying fields below the cutoff (F) can be detected by a synchronized stationary detector inputting to the processing equipment (10) so as to subtract such signals from the signals used to measure spatial field variations.
Abstract:
An air cooled double ended high pressure sodium lamp fixture for growing plants in confined indoor spaces. The fixture seals the lamp and heat generated by the same to a reflector interior. Flow disruptors create turbulence in a cooling chamber thereby enhancing thermal transfer into a cooling air stream that flows over and around the reflector's exterior side thereby convectively cooling the lamp using the reflector as a heat sink. The lamp is effectively maintained at operational temperatures and the fixture housing is insulated from the hotter reflector by a gap of moving cooling air, allowing use of the double ended HPS lamp in confined indoor growing spaces.
Abstract:
An overhead LED light fixture including a base member with a vertical sleeve secured to the top of the base member for alignment with a pass-through opening. The fixture has a driver-tray assembly with a bottom member engageable with the base member at the pass-through opening, a vertical driver-support structure extending upwardly therefrom, at least one driver secured to the support structure, and the driver-tray assembly is slideably received within the vertical sleeve. When used as a canopy light, the driver-tray assembly is removable from below the canopy to facilitate servicing, upgrading or replacing of components.

A vertically disposed HID lamp fixture for growing plants, which includes a housing having an interior, an exterior, a top hole, and a lower lip defining a light opening towards the plants, further including an inlet duct and outlet duct for the forced air cooling embodiment, a socket tower having an upper flange and a lower flange, the upper flange affixed around the perimeter of the top hole securing the socket tower to the housing, a reflector having an aperture, the lower flange affixed around the perimeter of the aperture suspends the reflector within the housing such that an isolation chamber is formed between the exterior side of the reflector and the interior of the housing, a HID lamp removably engages within said socket tower longitudinally extending substantially downward and through said aperture vertically disposed above said light opening sealed by a compressively held glass sheet.
Abstract:
The inventive LED-illuminated sign structure includes a frame, an outer shell and a plurality of separate LED emitters. The frame includes two opposite main support panels each having an upright outward surface, and shell-supporting members. The outer shell has a pair of opposite translucent sidewalls each extending along and is spaced from the respective outward surface. The LED emitters are spaced on each outward surface such that the translucent sidewalls are illuminated substantially entirely. The frame defines an open region for passing reflected light within the frame structure to and through the opposite translucent sidewall. The LED illuminator includes an LED emitter on a mounting surface, a one-piece lens member over the LED emitter and including a lens portion and a flange portion, and a gasket between the flange portion and the mounting surface. The lens member has a restraining ridge positioned to press the LED-emitter wires and the gasket against the mounting surface such that the wire portions between the ridge and the LED emitter remain in substantially fixed position regardless of wire movement beyond the restraining ridge.
