Abstract: Multicast/Broadcast Service (MBS) for user equipments (UE) in Radio Resource Control (RRC) idle/inactive modes via signally of MBS frequency ranges and/or switching between frequency ranges as required. Bandwidth Part (BWP) operation for MBS in RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE states may be implemented using a dedicated MBS BWP or by sharing a frequency range with other operations. An MBS frequency range may be wider or narrower than an initial BWP used by a UE, for example. MBS frequency range configure may be achieved in a number of ways, such as via Control Resource Set (CORESET), search space, and/or PDCCH monitoring occasions pattern settings for MBS in RRC idle/inactive. Downlink scheduling without dynamic grant for MBS in RRC idle/inactive may include configured scheduling and/or semi-persistent scheduling. Downlink repetition for MBS in RRC idle/inactive may include PDSCH repetition and/or PDCCH repetition.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor, a memory; and communication circuitry, the apparatus being connected to a communications network via the communication circuitry, the apparatus further including computer-executable instructions stored in the memory which, when executed by the processor, causes the apparatus to identify an apparatus capability that is an indication of an ability of the apparatus to perform beam failure detection (BFD) for a plurality of cells, transmit the apparatus capability to an other apparatus, receive from the other apparatus at least one message including a change in network configuration; and substitute a second set of cells for the first set of cells on which the apparatus performs BFD based on the change in network configuration so the apparatus capability is not exceeded by the network configuration.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a more flexible use of bandwidth parts (BWP) and cells for the various transmissions within the BFR procedure, such as the UL beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) and the DL beam failure recovery response (BFRR). The proposed framework allows these transmission to occur in BWPs with different Id, as well as on different cells. Example benefits include support for BFR on DL-only SCells by allowing the BFR UL transmissions on another cell with UL, support for sequential/parallel multi-cell BFRQ for improved BFR reliability and latency performance, and support for less UE-initiated BWP switching for BFR.
