    Abstract: A method for performing reference signal measurements on a plurality of cells may include obtaining a plurality of channel quality metrics for the plurality of cells, assigning a plurality of cell measurement priority rankings to the plurality of cells based on the plurality of channel quality metrics, based on the plurality of cell measurement priority rankings, selecting one or more target cells from the plurality of cells to measure during one or more reference signal periods to obtain a plurality of reference signal measurements, and reporting the plurality of reference signal measurements to a communication network.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for blind decoding a signal in a decoder of a mobile device. The method comprises receiving a channel coded signal; testing a plurality of hypotheses for the decoder that are not related to channel decoding by decoding the channel coded signal to generate a hypothesis specific decoded, channel coded signal and correlating a local channel coded reference sequence against a presumed corresponding section of the hypothesis specific decoded, channel coded signal for each of the plurality of hypotheses to generate a plurality of test results. The method further comprises determining a best hypothesis based on the plurality of test results and channel decoding a hypothesis specific decoded, channel coded signal for the best hypothesis to generate a channel decoded signal.

    Abstract: Reporting techniques for reference signal received quality (RSRQ) measurements are described. In one embodiment, for example, user equipment (UE) may comprise at least one radio frequency (RF) transceiver, at least one RF antenna, and logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to measure a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), determine a reference signal received quality (RSRQ) measured quantity value based on the measured RSSI, and map the RSRQ measured quantity value to an RSRQ reporting value according to an RSRQ measurement report mapping scheme comprising an extended RSRQ reporting range according to which one or more defined RSRQ reporting values correspond to RSRQ measured quantity values exceeding −3 dB. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    Abstract: Techniques for observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) positioning based on heterogeneous reference signals (RSs) are discussed. One example apparatus configured to be employed within a user equipment (UE) comprises receiver circuitry, a processor, and transmitter circuitry. The receiver circuitry can receive, from each of a plurality of evolved Node Bs (eNBs), one or more RSs of each of a plurality of distinct types of RSs. The processor can determine, for each of the eNBs, a time of arrival (TOA) of the one or more RSs of each of the plurality of distinct types of RSs; and compute, for each of the eNBs, a reference signal time difference (RSTD) based at least in part on the TOAs of the one or more RSs of each of the plurality of distinct types of RSs. The transmitter circuitry can transmit the RSTD computed for each of the eNBs.

    Abstract: Provided herein are a method and an apparatus for blind detection of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) and Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) using UE-specific reference signals. In an embodiment, the disclosure provides an apparatus for a UE, comprising circuitry configured to: measure a UE-specific Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) associated with a PDCCH; compute a first measurement metric M1 based on the UE-specific DMRS associated with the PDCCH before decoding the PDCCH; decode the PDCCH based on the first measurement metric M1; and decode PDSCH based on the decoded PDCCH. The disclosure may further, based on the corresponding PDCCH DMRS and/or PDSCH DMRS, determine if a PDSCH grant in a decoded PDCCH is valid or not, detect a repeated PDSCH grant in a slot, and detect cross-slot DMRS phase continuity between continuous slots.
